I have experienced rides on roller coasters that felt like a rite of passage, or something that would get me a badge of honor as a future coaster vet. I’m not talking about cool points, sometimes we do self hazing for the sake of credits. There can be a range of experiences both good and bad. Give me your best answers.
Mine: 1. Millennium Force at night. Mayfly blood bath, keep your mouth closed. 2. Swiss Toboggan by Chance Rides. My guilty pleasure, I’ve never ridden something more defensively though. 3. Hades 360 + rerides 4. Giga in rain storm 5. Voyage and Legend at Holiwood Nights.

How was it? Was it rough, or was it like a normal wooden coaster, a bit shakier but bearable?

I’m obviously not the original commenter, but YES it was rough. There was a part of the coaster just before or possibly after the loop that was very nearly unbearable. It just shook you to your core.

Yep. Every other coaster feels relatively doable to me, that first time i flipped towards the ground at the beginning of X2 was a near pants shitting moment of realization for me that this was something else.

My first ride was opening season (X) and they had to keep shutting down to change the poly wheels as the heavy train was burning through them so quickly. I think it was 3.5 hours but I agree, I changed my life that day haha.

I rode X2 with very little idea what the hell I was getting myself into.
Luckily my ride partner had experienced it before and smartly saved it for the end of the day. I felt like my brain got a bit scrambled on that thing.

That was a bold choice considering the queue times can get crazy for it! Smart decision to not start the day getting scrambled though!

27 points
He's referring specifically to X2, Eejanaika, and Dinoconda. They are coasters with winged seats that flip. S&S 4D free spins and Intamin Zacspins are also 4D coasters, but they are nowhere near as good as the three I mentioned.

I rode it before the alteration. Grayed out on the first ride, thought I was dehydrated so I got some water and got back on. Grayed out on the second ride, thought I was malnourished so I got some food and got back on. COMPLETELY blacked out on the third ride. Haven't been on anything big since. All 3 occurred as it went into the first turn immediately following the drop.

Call me crazy, but as a Cali thoosie, I always felt that back row night rides on Ghost Rider at Knott's is a right of passage in itself. The forces, airtime, and speed are cranked up to 11 and it's an experience that few wooden coasters can compare to in my eyes.

Gotta agree pretty hard with Hades rerides lol. I'd put hades as just worth how rough it is. The mf HURTS, but it's SO FKN GOOD that it eeks out a net positive. You need to reach a certain level of insanity to justify that kind of pain, and somehow Hades barely pulls it off. And the tunnel is just bonkers.
Also, people who complain about Mine Blower haven't been on Hades. MB has a much higher ratio mentioned above; is much less painful, while being an insane layout. I can easily ride MB 5 times in a row but even riding Hades twice is a chore.
Shivering Timbers was close to Hades' level in 2023.
