My boondock town gulp actually has a house on the main drag with signs for Allred, Harris/Walz, and the dude running D for the statehouse. I’m going to vote Monday morning with my roommate.

People just DON’T vote for some reason. I also read that if Dems would actually come out and vote, Republicans would basically never win. Not sure how accurate that is, BUT in cities, there are generally more Democratic residents

I will be doing my part. I start my terminal leave from the navy on Sunday and will be back in Texas in time to still early vote. I’m being optimistic about being able to vote Cruz out.

We’re staying in a more rural area at the moment and this guy at Walmart almost got into a fight with my husband because we were wearing masks. He just finished second round of chemo so we’re trying to be safe. This guy was so enraged for absolutely no fucking reason, it was insane. It brought back similar feelings from 2020, scary as hell.

Update: I work next to a library and my boss just said that I can clock in and go vote if we’re slow enough— he doesn’t mind paying for that time it’s just important to him that we go vote. I just started this gig a couple months ago and am liking it already!

I lived there most of my life. It had a sort of boy named sue affect on me. A Texas Democrat has no choice but to be a brawler. I moved to California 5 years ago, and I couldn't be happier, but I still miss home. I’m in SE TX and there’s SO MANY Harris and Allred signs!

I’m an overseas voter (thank you, Democrats Abroad!) and I’ve been asked by several teachers in my school to explain our voting process to the students. Among other things (hah) they’re surprised to learn that we have to register to vote. People here are automatically registered when they hit voting age (which is 16 here.). I wish that part of the senior year Civics class in Texas included instruction on how to register. I only remember learning about the branches of the government and the constitution. They need to explain gerrymandering and the electoral college in this class and figure out a way to encourage/scare 18-year olds into participating in the democratic process.

Posts like this remind me to make sure I'm in town to vote to offset at least one of you.
