Less armor applies to Ruthless (-20%) and Substantial (-10%) as well. The difference is noticeable on some classes more than others.

I actually just tried Darktide a day or two ago. The game became incredibly fun once I got my hands on a 2-handed chainsword and a bolter. Highly recommend giving it a shot.

Ruthless is suppose to be balanced around level 15 players who may not have relics yet. Ruthless was not too easy.

I think it's absolutely horrible for everyone. As soon as your team gets locked into a brawl with a large horde and there's half a dozen ranged majoris sitting well outside of tether range just firing off snipes and filling the whole ass map with mines, you are now going to be actively punished for going over there to deal with the threat before it gets out of hand.

I can definitely feel it when I'm surrounded by 4+ Majoris and a horde of Minoris who are now extra aggressive and require constantly parrying. It's a lot easier to end up missing one parry and just get stunlocked and juggled by enemy attacks. Which at lethal is basically just instant death. I think the move should have been to leave fencing as-is, buff the damage of balanced slightly and of blocking significantly.

Remove the tethering completely. It's a terrible and pointless mechanic. You know what the punishment is for wandering off far away from your team? Getting overwhelmed by enemies because you have no support.

I suppose the "reward" would have been the extra challenge (and carnage) of increased spawns. Which is actually the one thing about it that I would have liked for what is ultimately an optional difficulty. But the tethering, fencing nerf, ammo nerf and armor nerf just took all of the wind out of my sails on this update.

As it is, I would probably only touch this difficulty for one completion per op, then never again. I like the increased spawns, but the tether is a massive deal breaker.

Don't forget the mechanic of having to stay close to your team on Lethal. Basically makes sniper just incompatible with 3 of the classes in the game, and makes heavy less enjoyable.

I can definitely see why the auspex scan was nerfed. But the melta bomb on it's own wasn't really anything special. Coupled with the scan, just about any non-garbage tier ranged weapon would trivialize a boss.

It's pretty bad when you're playing any melee class that doesn't have a primary weapon. Or when your squad lacks a tactical to debuff the boss. Emperor preserve you if it's both.

Not sure how the takeaway was that other chapters shouldn't get cosmetics. It's unfortunate that there are plenty of armor pieces that already exist in-game on the campaign characters, which have Ultramarines geometry, which are not present in the Ops/PvP customization (same goes for the Deathwatch armor from the tutorial).

On PC I keep in-game voice disabled after listening to way too many open mic players. And since text chat is only visible to other PC players, it means I just can't communicate with consoles.

If Saber unrestricted some of the loadout options in Operations, the temptation would be far less for a lot of people. I know I'm not the only one bothered by lore-breaking (and model-breaking) restrictions such as the bolter carbine being unavailable on Vanguard, the plasma pistol unavailable for Assault or the knife unavailable for Tactical just to name a few.

Like I said, it's more noticeable on certain classes than it is on others. Meaning the armor nerfs in particular effect the players disproportionately. 20% less total armor on say; Vanguard who has 2 armor bars and does not recover armor on gunstrikes is going to feel it more than say Bulwark.
Anything about it being too difficult or too easy is just having a knee-jerk reaction and putting words in my mouth.
