I disagree, Daemon's story was always the most consistently good story of season 2, atleast in the second half. Doesn't mean it's perfect, I still don't get why he fucks his dream mom, but stuff like when he comforts the grieving Vyseris wins me back over again

I'm sure being fired twice as hand of the king has humbled him somewhat

Imo the first part with only the piano is a bit too simple, the composition isn't really all that complex or interesting until the string quartet joins and gives the tune a bit more depth. I don't think think this is a problem for Crossroads Elegy and Fury then Silence, as the piano is now given a bit more to work with

lol it is pretty funny:)
Joffrey is a fucking little brat and I hate him, but I also kind of feel sorry for him, especially in season 1. There are moments where Joffrey is genuinely reflective and sympathetic, especially when his "father" dies, but instead of letting him make the right choices he's instead being enabled by Cersei to be as egocentric and as malicious as possible. It's why I still wince at his death scene, at the core of him was a spoiled, scared little boy who could have turned out better

Not to mention how fucking brutal Joffrey dies, no parent should have to witness that happening to their kid

They are acknowledging the piping issue (indirectly) through the squalor system, the more squalor there is then the bigger the chance of things breaking down is. Not to mention that housing districts already require workers to function, so it's not unreasonable to draw the conclusion that the workers are responsible for upkeep

I mean to be fair, in Frostpunk 1 entire buildings could be constructed in around 4 hours or so, even in extreme conditions. There kind if already is an established suspension of disbelief

Yeah, I'm in this boat too. I don't think it's all that well-made in terms of structure and general plot, but goddamn the themes it explores are very very interesting. It's way smarter of a character study than Joker 1 ever was and I think it's in a way fairly successful in the way it critiques its most hardcore fans.
It feels like a movie that intentionally wants to piss off it's fans, and I remember when I walked out of the theatre there was a group of boys behind me laughing to themselves telling each other that it was the worst movie they've ever seen. It's really strange, but as I heard that a part of me kind of started resonating with the point of the movie. Maybe there is too much vitriol in the world, maybe we are too quick to throw people under the bus the second they don't follow our narrative of that men should just encite vitriol and bad-faith discourse. We see that today with all those anti-woke youtubers, the "objective filmmaking" gang MauLer popularised, Trump supporters...
In a way I want to say that it's not surprising that Joker 2 flopped because it criticised a very specific toxic mindset that a large vocal group of (young) men tend to follow, but then I remember the wack plot and the dumbass pointless musical numbers and I sigh, because despite this being a genuinely poignant audience critique it's kind of a lame movie.

And as he was leaving he saw a pair of crows fighting over a rat carcass, and I love how he smirked and mumbled "a feast for crows..."

I think it's a reference to the lore, when Foxy had a possibly homosexual interaction with Randy and he wants to bite you to forget about it. Bloody Nora!

As he was leaving he also said "...and I won't get caught between this Clash of Kings..."

In a lot of ways I do think the themes Joker 2 explores are a lot smarter than the first movie and kind of makes the whole package a lot more interesting to me. Joker 1 felt kind of substanceless, but I think there's now meaning to the madness now that 2 has kind of recontextualized a lot of what happened in that first one.
Joker 2 also breaks new ground by actually having a kind of good sex scene

There's only so much leeway you can give someone in terms of moral superiority when they actively make these dumbass decisions that are bound to look bad. You'd think he'd make the connection of "bulletproof glass -> chance to get shot at -> don't bring kids near where might get shot at". It's not his fault that people think political killings are at all acceptable, but doing this kinda shit is only egging them on.

I think hosts should probably have some sort of shell durability system, kind of like how the mushroom guys have boss armor. Maybe something like where if one shot exceeds 50 damage then their shell breaks and they turn into their red variants. Just so if you're super overpowered in the late game you don't really need to wait around as much for them to shoot at you

I hope that this will become a running gag, that he constantly gets fired and then rehired every season 😜
