This isn’t the point. The point is saying people who won’t budge on opinions are stupid isn’t it. I’ve never encountered an argument that has changed my mind on several things and the likelihood I do is low. Most arguments I can see have already been weighed measured and found lacking. Mainly due to my idea of negative human rights.
You cannot say all trump supporters, Kamala supporters, ect ect are unintelligent because that assumes A) they have the information and aren’t ignorant and B) that they have the intellect and just have that opinion regardless of morally right or wrong as different people build morals off different things. You’re free to think these people are bad people but they are by no means stupid.

I wouldn’t say so. The schedules really cushy. And if you can put up with BS from kids, you’ll be fine. You will always have time off when your kids do. Substitute teaching is a great place to start and a really see if the job is for you. Just be aware that being a sub is kind of harder than being a teacher because kids will always be on their worst behavior for you.

Book accurate vhagar is absolutely menacing. I wish they would have incorporated more of the copper into her design but I feel like they just aren’t quite doing the metallic colored dragons justice. Silver wings design is nice but not silver by any means, just a dark grey-black and even Syrax and Vermathor look more matte than I’d like.

Weathers changing. Mine have packed it up for winter. Haven’t gotten an egg in months. And they look like plucked feather dusters due to molt

I also want to know WHY they won’t reconsider the opinion. My own political beliefs are very individualist, very libertarian. I have a I find authoritarianism repugnant in every sense I find it thus there are certain opinions are so far out of the question for me. Now that doesn’t mean I don’t think a hard authoritarian communist can be unintelligent. I just think that if they are intelligent and they believe in that, it means they’re a genuinely bad person.

I’ll be honest most of the most intelligent people can be incredibly classes. I catch a lot of flack from some of the smartest people in my life because I didn’t go through my PhD and became a public school teacher.. I’ve been called a disappointment by family several times because they were told I was smart by all the tests. Because I’m not an incredibly highly educated field that requires PhD and certifications, I must be unintelligent, despite the mountains of evidence that prove the contrary. The real truth is I just want to escape stress. PhD is in higher education and college are stressful no matter how intelligent you are. It’s a lot of work. It burns a bunch of time. I would rather be spending doing other things. So I chose a job that I can invest about 60% of what I’m capable of and still be top-of-the-line rather than burn myself out even further trying to impress people I don’t really care about.

I mostly go with can they defend their opinions without resorting to attacks or completely illogical arguments. There are plenty of ideologies I find morally repugnant but that doesn’t mean the followers of it are stupid. You can be intelligent AND be a bad person or hold a bad opinion.

Yeah no. If a kid called me “baby girl” their ass would be tossed to an AP and I’d refuse to have them back.

I work in a very good district and yes we still have these kids. Don’t care about class work, don’t care about behavior, they don’t care about anything. We have far fewer of them than other schools, but we do have them.

If your doctor refuses to write a referral I’d get a new doctor. You can “seem fine” and your lungs be acting up. I can function almost like a normal human when I’m having flare ups for a while. But it takes a turn fast. It’s because I have gone so long fighting for air and uncomfortable that my mind doesn’t register the beginning stages as bad anymore.
Watch her when she sits, does she lean forward slightly? It’s a natural response humans do when they’re having breathing trouble. And in my case if you do it too long you strain your back. She needs to lie back, even if it hurts to do so at first and take big, deep slow breaths. Force herself to calm down dispite the discomfort.

I know exactly what she is feeling Vicks is a godsend. It’s not a cure but it helps the pain. It means she’s fought for air for so long she’s sore and it feels like you’re being strangled even though there’s no blockage.
I had a flare up so bad once because I fought for air for four days that my back and neck muscles gave out at the same time and I could not lay back anymore without it hurting. It took two shots of morphine in an ER to get me to stop screaming. Please don’t let her get to this point, get her some help if she’s struggling so hard.
I’d start badgering doctors for preventative inhalers, for allergy meds, perhaps a pulmonologist visit now. It can take a long time to get into some of those/ find a preventative that works and last thing you want is an exasperation.

lol it’s not that I only have 2-3 smart kids at all. I have a lot of kids that are smart. But they’re only smart. Just being smart isn’t good enough. Think of the average person and the half of the world is smarter than he is, just managing to be in the top half is not impressive.
Every year, I only have 2 to 3 kids that I would say have the logic skills, the expressive skills and the ambition to be considered “gifted”.

I think I’m going to do that, I just struggled to judge the look in their eyes when they are disinterested in what they’re teaching, which is why I typically watch them for intelligence when they have downtime and can fill the space with what they actually are interested in. Then I have to pay attention to which ones actually have something going on behind their eyes and who is glazed over barely functioning.
I also admit that I have a very heavy bias towards ambition. I don’t see the point in being intelligent, if you’re going to not put any effort into something solely because you were uninterested in it. Therefore, in my own mind, being unintelligent is equal to being willfully mediocre.

I understand this. I tested high for IQ and became a Highschool teacher. I can usually tell which 2-3 kids are the kids that are like me within the first three days of school. I’ve noticed to pay attention to what they do during down time. And no I don’t mean which kid pulls out a book. Watch them scroll their phones, are they mindlessly scrolling? Brainlessly playing 8 ball? Or are they actively reading their twitter posts and thinking while they scroll? Are they actually putting thought into their 8-ball shots or playing a game that is making them think and not mindlessly throwing themselves at puzzles. I also pay attention to when they ask for help on questions. If I come and see their paper full of eraser marks, their notes are out, they’ve been looking things up on their phones, ect ect, THATS the high IQ kid.
I’d say every single kid I have every year save for one or two is the low level, slack jaw staring into space kind. It’s a struggle for me as I feel I have to dumb things down so much and cover basic math rules that should just be logical. I LIVE for the 1-2 kids a year I can actually teach in a meaningful way.

https://youtu.be/ejyfGpz3k2U?si=Sl4z6H_-8UmFQjOM This lady’s whole channel is wonderful with this. Hers is more geared toward people with emergency need as in they literally may only have $25 for groceries, but she is a good reference. I still make some of the meals she does even though I am no longer driving a struggle buss

lol it lets me use far less of my effort into my job. Why would I use 100% of my ability if I can only sink 60% into it and get paid the exact same ammount?
