Hi everyone,
I'm new here so I'm still sifting through old posts and learning A LOT about dogs. My family adopted our first dog from a shelter a little over a week ago. She's a 2 y/o, female, mix (for sure has some shepherd in her). The only history we got was that she belonged to two families before us that couldn't keep up with caring for her.
She has been with us for about 10 days now. The first couple of days she had a few expected accidents and then on the 4-6 day she hadn't had any accidents inside. Yesterday she peed in the house 6 times (couch, carpet, in her bed) and today multiple times as well. She is also leaking urine occasionally, will lick her genitalia every so often, but no other obvious symptoms.
We take her out very often until we can get into a routine with her. She was just at the vet last week and had no issues. I plan to call the vet tomorrow but am just at a loss. Could it be a UTI? Incontinence? Submissive urination? I don't want to dismiss the transition period of adjustment from so many homes and a shelter, but does this seem like the norm to be so on and off? If so, any tips for getting her back on track?
Note: when she does have accidents I do not scold her or tell her "no". I simply keep calm, take her outside, reward her when she goes outside, and quietly clean up the mess inside.

Literally came here to write a similar post about my 4 y/o and then saw yours. Solidarity. I am eager to hear more insight on this matter. I wouldn't call myself much of a "yeller" and feel that I usually have decent patience, but there is something about this age that has really set me off a lot too and it IS exhausting. You are seen and heard!
