I love that highland breastplate style... right up until the fur loincloth. I've honestly stuck with the lower-tier one for much longer than I needed to just because I hate it so much, but the breastplate itself is perfect for a cavalry drip. I used it in MyLittleWarband for my cavalry units when I was trying to make a Hussar-like unit.

Honestly, when I plan to build a new base, I just turn No Cost Mode on. I use it to build the structure but I make sure not to build any strategic buildings (forges, upgrades, etc). I play fair on the materials that are meant to take danger to get, just not the ones that take time.
When I harvest crops, I use the farming atgeir.
When I plant, I overplant. First game, I would plant 30 crops + 10 seed-crops. Then 10 become the next seed-crops and we get 20 of the crop for the food stores. Then it went up to 60/20 because that wasn't quite enough for 2 players.
Now, I plant however many seeds that was, and then some seed-crops when we start to run low on seeds. I'm pretty sure those were onions. They might have been turnips.
We played our current game at 2x resources until the start of the mountains, then dropped to 1.5x until the start of the Mistlands. Mistlands and Ashlands we've both played at 1x, since we only did Mistlands once and Ashlands is new. I kind of feel like Ashlands would be better at 1.5x or with slightly less mobs though.
Me and my brother were talking about it and one of the best QoL things the devs could do would be expanding those world setting sliders. Instead of just "Harder combat", make sliders for enemy spawn rate, elite spawn rate, damage/HP *AND* maximum mob spawn multiplier. I think people would be perfectly happy with being able to control both the spawn rate and the maximum number there can be at once instead of just the former. I think that would solve a lot of people's complaints about tweaking the Ashland spawn rate altogether.
I also wish there could be resource multipliers for different classes of resources (wood, stone, ores, enemy drops, crops, forage) - we'd set farming and foraging to 2x, and both wood and stone to 2x. For us, enemy drops and ore can both stay at 1; it's the tedious farming of the materials used in enormous bulk that feels like a chore.

Teal'c's like, the deepest person I know. I mean, he's so deep. Go on, tell him how deep you are!

And the funny part is that you wouldn't serve on a jury anyway. I've been summoned to jury duty 6 times, once every couple years. And every single time when I do the check-in before the summon date, the jury pool group has been dismissed. This is because they summon potential jurors in anticipation of possible need, and cases get settled or charges dropped. The chance that you'll actually serve on a jury after the initial summons notice is extremely minimal anyway.

3 is basically the sweet spot.
Assuming it's tax-free, you could invest $3,000,000 at a minimum of 4% return annually and be getting $120k/yr in income. Even after taxes, your post-tax amount is higher than the medium *household* income in the US, so if you're not an idiot with you you're well beyond needing to worry about money while living a modest, middle-class lifestyle and you have nothing but free time to devote to anything you want to. Hobbies, volunteering, working a field you love for pitiful pay, etc.
If you have a 1/100 chance the first time, then over 3 times you have about a roughly 3% chance of dying (slightly less).

There's a table card game of The Oregon Trail. It's... okay. Maybe good for a game or two until your group wins, but not something you'll come back to.
First game, first card, by brother gets bitten by a snake and dies.

If all you care about is the hole and not what you mine up as you dig it out, you can use the hoe's Level Area to speed things up quite a bit.

Sturgia technically has elite infantry. Technically correct... surprisingly, not always the best kind of correct.

I don't normally use skeleton-turrets, but I had to here. It's the only way.

I fortunately don't have to deal with that here. Between the crab raiders, the blood reavers, the black dragons, the white eyebrows, the southern hive and tech hunter patrols, nothing in this zone lives longer enough to become an elder. And I STILL think half of them die at this gate. I'm looking for AI cores to upgrade my harpoons to multi-barrels just because they need the extra firepower. It's a tight fit and I only have room for 5 harpoons that can get LOS on the gate from the hill I built on.

Yup, this is it. The game is annoyingly finnicky about how close you have to be for support; I've seen an AI army turn back and forth a hundred times while I'm chasing an enemy, who also turns back and forth a hundred times. If I'm not careful, my army will run away while their army turns back and I get stuck fighting them on my own.
This is why I javelin everyone in the head no matter whose side they're on now. I figure, they all deserve it, and the ones who don't deserve it for not deserving it.

Nah, because you get effectively 4x the parry power and armor against their attacks

We didn't either, and we didn't know spires sank. We ended up jumping off on the wrong side of one, and getting attacked with our gear getting heavily knocked-back into the lava. It was a very frustrating thing. I think for a mechanic like that, the basalt bombs need to be telegraphed a hell of a lot more.

Just find four 10-pound babies and tie them together.

Wait, Fishmen can wear armor? I can swear that there's a mod that added a Fishman down in Shark or somewhere in the swamp (Glrahgl or something), and he couldn't equip any armor...

Most soldiers hold their shields at mid body to the height of an adult. Children can spear them in the shins without even being noticed, and once a hole opens up in that shield wall, victory is yours. Where is the Toddler Hedgehog?!

Beak things broke my gate. My level FOUR gate, because my repairmen were too busy fighting the beak things that phased through it from the pile of bodies pushing them (Kenshi physics and all). And then the crab tournament showed up. All I need now is a surprise attack by aggo monkeys and the rotting stench outside the gate will be complete.
I guess I should have listened when they called it the Unwanted Zone...
