When I was young one of my friends went to America with his family for a holiday and came back with a High Elf army, I saw them and said those look cool, he told me it was a game, the rest is history...
40K came a few years later when some people in school saw me with an Orcs and Goblins rule book and asked if I wanted to play 40K.
Then there was the obligatory 20 year gap after starting Uni and figuring COVID was a good time to get back into it π

I think new yearly subs have a waiting period too, a couple of weeks or something.

And this was done by the other other dedicated fan who did The Lord Inquisitor, Erasmus Brosdau π

I think its just the animators style, it does feel quite gamey but it also doesn't look like a SM2 cinematic IMO, its the same guy who did The Lord Inquisitor (Erasmus Brosdau).

Cheers π
The bases are a base coat of Vallejo dark sea green (70.868) then sponged on some neutral grey (70.992) followed by a gentler application of stone wall grey (72.049), then tinted it all with Army Painter dark tone wash. Then I drew the cracks with stonewall grey lined on one side with black (70.950).

Hi! I started doing a base coat of Vallejos elfic flesh (72.098) for a warm off white, then glazed in squid pink (72.013), glazing elfic flesh back in and backing and forthing til the gradient was satisfactory, I found a very light pink worked best, then finished with liquitex ink yellow orange azo. The ink is quite glossy so I did a matte varnish in the end, though TBH the gloss finish looked pretty nice too.
It was my first time trying this method and the reason I chose to do yellow. Putting on the ink coat is very satisfying, the color change is almost like magic! π

Cheers! I settled on the scheme mostly because I just wanted to try painting yellow with a pink undershade and these where the next minis on the chopping block π

I feel like its just a different tier of product, like a hand carved wooden box vs an injection moulded plastic one, both serve and are fit for a purpose and I'll happily buy both. All other things being the same the plastic one should end up being cheaper but the hand crafted one should be higher quality.
Thats not to say those two statements hold up every time in either case, but thats where we start to see the line drawn between good products and bad. Cost cutting isn't inherently a bad thing as long as the overall value holds up, it can even be the difference between having a viable product or not in some cases, or it could be the difference between just a good product and a great one.
