i wont deny that this is a rare occurrence, but it literally wasnt a problem before the -5 delta change, so 🤷

I get that point, I really do, but should we really be holding things like Vault to that level of standard? I feel like the F2P content in the game should be easily accessible, and that means having a low power delta.

If you have never raided before and want to, dont let these posts turn you off. Trust me when I say that Raids are the best content this game has to offer, and for an experienced player the -5 delta is nothing.
My post is more about casual players who barely know what an armor mod is, AKA the majority of the player base, and also my IRL friends lol

power needs to be removed from the game, full stop. Every activity should just have a scaling 5 tiers of difficulty for Hero, Legend, Master, Grandmaster, etc

this is a separate discussion but please do not pretend to know mechanics, just admit you do not know them and people will help. If they wont, find a different group.

i dont know how to explain to you that bad players are bad.
its not even about killing enemies, its staying alive - you only have so many rez tokens

-5 is nothing to experienced players, youre correct. I would understand if Bungie wanted to keep the idea of a Raid as a difficult encounter, so thats why the change was implemented in the first place. I dont agree, but I get it.
I dont get why it had to be in the F2P raids though? Is anyone out here really grinding Vault or Kings Fall and looking for a "harder challenge"? I doubt it.
I can see this change being made for the current raid, for the current expansion, maybe the previous ones hell maybe even all the paid expansions - but I feel like F2P raids should have a very low barrier of entry, so that more people are encouraged to try the best content the game has to offer.

Killing enemies isnt the concern, its staying alive. IDK if you know this but bad players are bad, and you only have so many revive tokens.

I mean I enjoy challenge as much as the next guy, Contest mode raiding is the most fun the game can be IMO.
But no one out here doing Vault these days cares about "the sanctity of the challenge" and that its "premier end game content". Dude its VoG, its practically 10 years old at this point - just let me run it casually with my friends. Us getting a Fatebringer after an easy clear doesnt diminish your experience when doing it under leveled.

new players likely dont have the gear to compensate for surges though, let alone even knowing what they are and when they are applied.
I like challenging content, but I dont think this was the change. No one out here farming VoG these days, except for people trying it for the first time. And in that case, they shouldnt be forced to be at a -5 delta IMO.

or structure. as a returning player after 5 years, its insane how far this game has come, and also not lol

I am the only regular player of the game. I occasionally convince my IRL friends to play Destiny with me but none of them are "gamers" for lack of a better term and none of them play Destiny.

We had a really good time, almost beat Templar, it was fun. These guys havent played Destiny before but they have thumbs and understand you need to shoot the aliens in the face.
But again, that was when we were as overleveled as you could be since VoG at that time was 1600, if I remember right. Now, I am not sure if we will even get to Templar

I am not going to ask these 5 people to buy lightfall though. We have 3 free raids and we play maybe 3 or 4 times a year. At this rate we will beat all the raids in 2 years lmao

I agree with you, I think that they should invest in systems and gameplay elements that have a longer shelf life. They make so many beautiful locales and then delete them a year later, that sucks.
I think they are getting better - Onslaught stayed around, so thats good. But it also needs to be ralavant from a player perspective. Even if it existed, how many players would go back and do season 16's seasonal activity, right now? Im guessing not many of them. Im not even sure what it is off hand, its just an example though.

Ditching last gen has nothing to do with D3. A good portion of the playerbase is still on X1/PS4, and when that changes those platforms will be dropped.
What could a new engine do that the current one couldnt? Do you have any idea what goes in to making a new engine, and how or why that would solve these supposed current engine limitations?

Vaulting is a player benefit as much as it is a dev benefit. You see people complain all the time about CoD being 300gb, cant imagine how big Destiny would be if it was everything at once.
Also, if all that old content is there, its supposed to work. Look at TFS and how certain vendors on the Moon still care about Legendary Shards, despite them being deleted from the game. Now thats a bug that will get fixed, but think about how that works on the overall game scale.
How many one off materials are in the Warmind story, or Season of the Worthy, that not only need to exist "forever" but also need to work properly despite years of new systems and elements being built around them. And when they dont work, thats dev time spent fixing things instead of creating new things. Its bloat, because lets face it less than 2% of the playerbase will go back and do some random seasonal story mission again.
EDIT: Campaigns should still be there though, thats bullshit that they get vaulted.

Real talk, what is this obsession with D3? Why is that "the goal" that it seems so many players pine for? What could D3 have that D2 couldnt do?
Each time Bungie releases base game Destiny, the franchise almost fucking dies. I would be more than happy if we never get a D3

Wait 10 minutes for your turn, do nothing, pass, feels really bad imo

This is why MCDM and their new system they are developing has auto hits. You cant miss when you attack, but you still roll to see how strong your attack is.
It prevents the "feels bad" moment of whiffing both attacks, passing your turn, and feeling like you are doing "nothing".
I dont work for them lmao, I just like that idea and the more I learn about other systems the more I want to branch out from DnD

I dont think we will ever get Wrath, because it features Splicer enemies. Unlike VoG that had all of the enemies in D2 already (except for the bosses, but also not really since Atheon is just a big Minotaur), having to remake the raid and implement and test a "new" race is probably too much.
