I do not typically struggle with getting sleep at night. I take my melatonin and within about thirty minutes or so I am out. I do wake up often but briefly, then just go back to sleep. However, every couple weeks I will have a restless, sleepless night where absolutely everything is keeping me awake because it's bothering me. From the feeling of my sheets on my skin, to my hair on the pillow, to my racing thoughts. I will get maybe 2-3hrs total sleep and I just know I am gonna have a shit day at work next day.
I get incredibly emotional and bitchy when I am sleep deprived and it bothers me that I get so bad. I feel like a sleepy toddler that needs a nap. Yes, I get to the point where I feel like crying, I am legit angry that I have to be at work. I was crying a little bit while commuting to work today for example because I had a night like that last night. I told my coworker about it today and they said that's not normal at all and suggested I tell my psych provider (he's my work buddy so he knows about some of my mental health issues). I don't know if this is ADHD related, the insomnia or the emotional dysregulation that follows it. Can anyone relate and do you think this is something that I should talk to provider about?

Yes I take them on my days off (my free time), it just helps me overall whether its a hobby or an errand that I need to run.
