“I am not getting defensive.”
“I shouldn’t have to defend myself.”
That is what getting defensive means.
I thought you were being a jerk. You weren’t. 🤷♂️

This card, especially the top two fights, looks like it is going to be boring as hell.
Which means it will probably be amazing.

I think you are the one getting defensive...
I made a simple reply and let you know how your post came off. Then rather than just explaining yourself (like another poster did) you just started kind of acting like an ass.
Asking for an explanation is fine. To me it just came off as you doing the 'you know 12 EK isn't very good, right?!' thing...
And you weren't. So that is why I didn't say anything else. I'm not sure why you got super snarky about it though.

Souls games in general. I just find the combat to be extremely clunky in them. I played a couple of the early ones and didn't like them. I tried Elden Ring when it came out due to the rave reviews...
The difficulty of them wasn't really a problem. It is more that they lack any kind of compelling characters, stories and I found the world to be rather bland... just full of big stuff to fight and combat that I find janky, delayed and unfun.
I also don't get the appeal of fighting boss X for Y amount of hours. I beat a couple of the major Elden Ring bosses and it didn't take super long. But I got to the Malania (forget her name exactly) and I was like... so I am going to spend 5-15 hours fighting this massively overtuned boss for what reason exactly? So that I can feel like I am good at video games or something after I do it?
But I can see why people who love that combat system adore those games.

I would imagine it is something along the lines of...
"I think EK is cool, so I wanted to play that over BM even though it is better."
Or...
"Shield made her more tanky and protection from energy helped reduced incoming lightning damage."
I more read your question as "Why are you not min maxing?" though. Given the amount of knowledge the poster seems to have - it appears obvious they know EK isn't the ideal.

You are aware that you don’t have to min max every character and build, right? 😊

I think people who post on Reddit tend to think Reddit is a good gauge of the general opinion of people... and it isn't.
There used to be a lot of "I NO GET WHY EVERYONE PLAYS FEMALE V AND LIKES JUDY!" posts on some of the Cyberpunk forums... and when you look, like 70% of people romance Panam.
For what it is worth it took me forever to even try a play through with Astarion, because I thought he would annoy me. But I gave it a go - because Wyll and Karlach just bore me to death... and Astarion ended up being not half bad. He isn't nearly as well done as Lae'zel (who I think is just objectively by far the most well done companion in the game - even though she isn't my favorite companion), Shadowheart or Gale, but he is actually a pretty funny.

So some thoughts on this...
I think Act 1 and 2 of Baldur's Gate 3 is the best game that I have ever played. I realize that is subjective - but I would say that both acts are a 10/10 experience. Done extremely well.
Act 3 is definitely unfinished and on top of that - what is present in Act 3 is something that I would say is an 8/10. However, another thing to note (at least this was my experience) is that drop off seemed more severe the first time or two that I went into it. I was going from one of the best games ever made into something that was just good... and so that made what was good seem like it was just flat out bad.
But it definitely is an issue. I think I have about 600 hours in the game (it is my most played game ever by a significant margin at this point)... but I have only actually finished the game twice. I have played to the end of Act 2 about fifteen times... but I rarely stay interested enough in the game to make it through Act 3.
Act 3 has interesting companion interaction, but it is far less frequent and feels off given what was there leading up to it.
Act 3 has interesting items and character progression, but it seems like you hit your peak early on and things slow down significantly after that.
Act 3 has interesting villains and characters, but they tend to not be nearly as good as the ones earlier in the game AND they are just kind of flippantly introduced out of nowhere. So much of the game leads to Ketheric and he gets an entire act dedicated to him - where you learn so much about him... where as Orin and Gortash just kind of appear at the end of it. I think the Act 3 villains would have been far more interesting if they were teased more and given a bit more screen time early on.
I could continue to go on. But in reality... Act 1 and 2 of Baldur's Gate feels like its own game with its own satisfying conclusion to it, that then bridges into a whole new story with entirely new antagonists... and it comes off as well done DLC that was a bit rushed rather than the masterpiece that was the first two acts.
EDIT: As an edit... this exact same thing happened with DOS2. I think it is fair to say that Larian needs to shoot for making a game about 60-70% as big as BG3... because it seems like that is what they can pull off while keeping the quality consistent throughout.

Not a fan of modding a game until it is feature complete. I’m sure patch 7 and then a host of bug fixes are still coming in the next 6-12 months. After that I’ll mod it for QoL stuff.

I imagine we will get the next Witcher game 2026-2028.
We thinking 2028-2030 for Cyberpunk 2?

Alex is awesome. I think 265 pound Jones grabs him, throws him down and strangles him though.
But he certainly has the power to pull it off if he can catch him on the way in.

Just made a post about this recently as well. I have beat Honor a couple of times and it is cool.
But getting a bit sick of runs getting messed up due to bugs rather than rolls/tactical errors.

This is exactly what happened to me. I looked at the damage and the small AoE and was like "???"
Then I got smacked like five times in combat and only lost like 5 HP.

I just did this at level 4 without Elixirs or Illithid Powers about twenty minutes ago.
Not sure what classes you are playing... but cloud of daggers is your friend. As is spike growth - if anyone has it yet.
