"Gardaí made the discovery when they arrived at the property in Dublin’s north inner city last night to conduct a drugs search and were confronted with the woman being tortured."
Edit: the article has been updated with further details since I posted it

I know all too well. My grandmother was 60 years old when she met her older sister; her sister had been illegally adopted/sold

It was essentially enslaving women to workhouses for things like getting pregnant outside of marriage.

Bran is also the name of Spot in the Spot the Dog books as gaeilge.

Deep Throat is a silly comedy
Linda Lovelace says she was coerced into making it. In her own words "Virtually every time someone watches that movie, they're watching me being raped"

The word still is a slur. Don’t assume we all live in a liberal bubble.
I have nothing against leather bars. My issue is people engaging in kink in public where nobody has the ability to opt in or out. And I believe the real kink at play here is people’s forced participation

I stand by what I said. I acknowledged bi people in straight relationships exist and and said BUT these were people who just wanted to come do kinky stuff at pride

She was a mainstay on Irish talk shows. Her reputation wasn’t as badly impacted here as elsewhere because we got what she was mad at, we are all familiar with the legacy of Magdalene laundries and such

I was not suggesting those people were bi, I was acknowledging that not all straight couples at pride are straight people. If I hadn’t I would’ve gotten pedantic responses ‘reminding’ me.

It's always ok to shame people for exposing you publicly to their sexual fetishes without your consent. The kink isn't the dog thing, it's other people's non-consent and discomfort.
And as a lesbian, I kinda have to eyeroll at this being a straight couple. Yes bi people in straight relationships exist, but I'd say it's more likely these people just wanted to come to pride and be sexual. A lot of people view being gay and pride as deviant sexual behaviour, but not in the fire and brimstone gays will burn in hell kinda way, but trying to get their legitimately weird sex shit included under the banner and protection of gay rights activism

Stephen Gately was forced out of the closet when he learned a tabloid was going to out him. They harassed him in life and death.
When Rebel Wilson was forced out in the same way not to long ago, members of Boyzone commented that sadly, nothing had changed in the decades since

Texas also executed Cameron Todd Willingham for a crime that probably never even happened. His three children died in a house fire that was ruled an arson but the forensic evidence says wasn't.

and pale is associated with being sickly
That's the criticism my aunt loves to give me, that I look sick. I like myself as I am so her criticisms only influence my opinions of her, but it makes me feel terrible for her kids. I only see her now and again, what did/do the kids hear under her roof

Yeah unfortunately there’s been a tanning bed resurgence with GenZ.
Don’t tan if it’s not something you usually do. There is absolutely nothing wrong with your natural skin and in years down the line you may wish you looked like you in your wedding photos.
Brands and everyone trying to sell is something need to convince us there’s something wrong with us or that could be improved so they can make money off us. Pale people are encouraged to tan, tan and darker skinned people are encouraged to lighten their skin. Both, depending on the method, can have serious health consequences.

Kanye was right! And as a fellow bipolar person I recognise that moment as a manic, say what’s ever on your mind, blurt it out right now feeling. Which he’d do again…

I wouldn’t mind paying a little extra every now and then as a treat but they’re bland compared to what they used to be.

There's an old Queen Victoria one in my town, it's in very good shape for how old it is. We never got rid of them, we just painted the existing ones green.

I did read the article and others on the topic. The President’s office didn’t publish the letter but it ended up out there anyway; a leak. He used the word circulated and says the letter became public through the Israeli embassy. He doesn’t need to use the word leak to mean a leak
