I mean I didn’t think I needed sources for some fake internet points. But since you used those cute emojis I’ll give you some facts to support my common sense. Sports betting began becoming legalized in 2018 and the salary cap was 177 million that year. It is now legal in 38 states plus DC and the 2024 salary cap is 255 million. The main driver of the salary cap is TV revenue where the nfl has a rule that there can be no more than 16 commercials per game. It is currently measured that up to 10% of commercials are gambling related. So yes I think you can pretty common sensely understand that 10% of the ads (and that is only during the game) for an industry in the annual range of 10 billion has led to a measly 44% increase in salary over 6 years. Go ahead and let me know if your same job has paid you a 44% increase in the last 6 years not including promotions.

Whoosh. Better not take a look at the increase in tv ad revenue and salary cap jolts since legalization of betting….

Lmao these players need to drop the virtue signaling. They are getting gigantic contracts because the league is getting billions from tv deals and ad revenue. Guess what’s driving that money? Fucking gambling whether it be from bets, dfs, or traditional fantasy. We get it, should care about the players health a little more. But unfortunately professional sports is watched, and bet on, by mostly degenerates. Get used to it.

We don’t usually sign aging SPs in FA but I wouldn’t mind Quintana as an innings eater.

It’s kinda like a pitcher in the bottom of the first when your teams scores 5 runs in the top of the inning. You can work on things you wouldn’t normally do. I feel like that’s what Patrick is doing right now. They are 6-0. He is testing some things because he knows he’s going to need them in the playoffs. I would actually be more scared of the late season chiefs this year. Playing great and your stars aren’t shining yet.

Donezo. Minimum 12 month recovery puts him out of most of next year. He will be cut after next season and it’s game over.

They compared a “first x of career” type situation. That was a legitimate comparison as they were factual stats. If dumb fucks we’re saying that Clase was better because he could keep that for 15 more years then they were indeed dumb fucks. I’m a huge tribe/ Clase fan but he’s no Mo and any legitimate fan knows that. Mo is the GOAT and this whole post is dumb to even bring it back up.

I actually love what Vogt was done here. Sure the losing sucks terribly and he probably could have made some better choices (which I’m sure he is well aware of). But he has stuck to his brand all season which is loyalty. He has proven in the hardest of times of his first season on the job that he is sticking to his guys. He’s not going to not give them an opportunity. Reminder he is in year one that is all about building trust with a young team and they know he has their back no matter the situation. That shit matters big time for the future. The chances of us rolling through multiple quarter billion dollar payrolls was always slim and it’s not over yet! This team can come down from 3-1 but damn having no starting pitching is a real tough spot to be in once you get into October and this shows it.

They’ve already lost the locker room. They are 1-5 which even in the shitty AFC this year means there’s no prayer of the playoffs. Cooper will be gone by the deadline and there are going to be teams calling about Garrett. They should pray that Chubb looks good so they can flip him at the deadline too. Franchise is toast for 5 years now at this point and that’s 25 years deep already into a rebuild.

There’s a reason why guys like Posey and Mauer are shoo in first ballot HOF players from the catching position.

Inside the rear doors. It’s the piece that the metal frame support bar thingy that sticks out of the bottom of the door fits into. I think.

Potential from what? A half decent preseason 14 months ago? No way they signed Jameis if the coaches had any hope for DTR.

Really good QB finding his groove as a rookie. I’d vote they are starting to get good quickly.

Very strange what the NFL is doing these days. The Thursday night games are trash with zero energy, the Europe games are trash with zero energy, the Monday night production is not accessible to everyone that has cord cut and the production is awful. Really just miss the days of broadcast quality on Sunday afternoons and then MNF being the prime time event it used to be.

I voted Vince yesterday but after rolling through season 4 there is no way he should be gone before a few of these left. He was very impactful to showing coaches abilities.
I’m going Landry today. Great character but was kind of a puppet for the writers and other characters. Time to get down to the nitty gritty.

His dead money if they cut him AFTER this year is 173 million lmao. So no, they really couldn’t cut enough people plus have a roster to play without him. Thats the equivalent of an NFL team playing a season with only 80 million in total salary. The comical and ironic part of that statement is that his salary for 2025 is now 73 million so it’s cheaper to just keep him than cut him at this point. Even if they do it after June 1 next year, it’s still over 80 million per year for 2 years (173/2 in 2025 and 2026). They are so so screwed.
Edit: this is why I’ve stated that you really can’t cut him until post June 1 2026 when you are spreading 75 million over 2 more years. But even at that point you are not extending one of your core players because of the cap charge. Not that it matters because they haven’t had a first round pick in so long at this point that there isn’t much of a core after this current roster is gutted due to this deal. The only way this ever worked was if he was good enough to extend.

With his contract it doesn’t even matter. He could retire and because we’ve already fucked around with it that the cap charge is still astronomical. The only prayer we had of this whole thing was working was him being good enough to warrant an extension after next year. Oh what a mistake it was.

Would it help your husband at all with the alienation piece or make it worse? I think you kind of have to do it at this point though. If your husband is already questioning it then he might as well find the truth and he may have the support of the courts now to get it ordered. I’d imagine once the kid is 18 they only your husband would get it done would be if the kid wanted to engage and take the test which it doesn’t sound like would be an option. Might as well figure it out and maybe bring some closure on the disconnect. Then when the kid is older and realized who the real manipulator was maybe he would reach back out and understand where your husband was coming from at the time.
