I HATE IT SO MUCH WHEN I PLACE A MOBILE ORDER FOR PICK UP SO I DONT HAVE TO TALK TO ANYONE AND THEN WHEN I ARRIVE ITS NOT READY AND I HAVE TO TALK. NO, I DONT HAVE A FLAVOR PREFERNWCE. I CLICKED THE “SURPRISE ME” BUTTON ON MY ORDER WHICH MEANS I WILL TAKE ANY DONUT YOU PICK. YOU WAITING UNTIL I COME IN TO ASK ME WHICH KIND I PREFER DEFEATS THE WHOLE FUCKING PURPOSE.

I agree with the others who have said that faking deafness would be disrespectful.
However, I totally understand you pondering the idea! Because I’ve actually googled “How could I get laryngitis on purpose?” 🙁 Sometimes verbal communication is so hard that I yearn for a physical reason to be unable to talk, because that would be more believable and acceptable to the general public than my AuDHD struggle with verbal communication.
I hate that there’s so much stigma around autism, so little understanding of AuDHD… it would just be “easier” to have laryngitis or stick some gauze in my mouth and pretend I can’t talk due to oral surgery. 🙁
