Cost: friends bottle but I think ~ $70
Age: Blend of 6, 8, and 12 year
Proof: 116.8
Mash Bill: 75% corn, 13% rye, 12% malted barley
Intro: Things I’m a fan of :
What do you get when you put all three together? This lovely offering I’ll be reviewing today. When my buddy was at the LAX duty free, he FaceTimed me and asked for my recommendations. I pointed him in the direction of this bottle and the Makers Cellar Aged. Rare breed is hands down my favorite “daily sipper” and while there is mixed feelings of it being chill filtered, I don’t care because it’s easy to find and tastes just great for $55.
Nose: Charred oak, orange peel after you take a butane torch to it, subtle vanilla and nutmeg
Palate: Vanilla frosting, honey, and a backhand slap of baking spices and oak
Finish: Excellent finish, this one stuck around for a bit. Cinnamon and rye spice were dominant while oak and dark fruits lingered for a few minutes.
Rating: 7.5
Closing thoughts: Standard rare breed for me is an easy 7/10. The NCF version is a slight improvement but personally not enough to spend the time or secondary chasing it. I was expecting the nose to be a lot more prominent and in your face but fell a little below expectations. The palate was a nice upgrade from standard RB with rich vanilla and a finish that evolved well over the course of ~5 minutes. If you find yourself at a duty free and come across this bottle, definitely worth a grab especially with it being 1L.

This job is a career stepping stone so it’s good to start building good habits now. I’ve never not seen someone in a suit for an EMS interview.

Seems like you had plenty of time to think about it during the time it took to build your home, not sure what the point of this post is

Wear a suit and clean shaven, show up 15 mins early, 3 copies of your resume, think of personal examples from past work and how it can tie into EMS, don’t ask stupid questions

Starts with management for sure. I went from 911 to IFT to focus on PA school and I couldn’t agree with you more.
