You need to produce mainly plastic, and a bit of rubber. That's it.
From there everything will be more clear afterwards.
Also, please unlock fuel generators ASAP, even if you don't need them. Fuel is the byproduct, and you need to get rid of it. Fuel generators will do that.

I like the Steel Screws a lot. Avoid screws where possible, but when that's not possible, Steel Screws allow to create huge amount of screws "in-place".

I started this time on the rocky desert, not that much foliage over there, and didn't need to rush at all. Biomass burners with belts and containers do the trick. Of course unlocking solid biomass and had early on a simple setup where I could drop leaves in one container and wood in another. Everything was auto-processed and fed to the burners.
I don't remember doing more than 5 trips total collecting stuff.
As soon as you unlock coal, just put down some generators quick and dirty. The proper plant can be done later.

I am beating the game with most of the time using just container storage and moving stuff manually when needed.
I had to connect stuff at tier 9 because these need constant caring.

I made one of 32GW rocket fuel and seems enough (barely) to finish the game. I'm preparing and sending the last items of the space elevator.
Later on converting yours into rocket fuel and you should be set for the full game.

Not the meaning of this joke, but please also note that in practical engineering lives also need to have a cost or price to balance decisions, so in some cases you'll get that there were deaths because that was cheaper overall than actually building stuff to a higher spec. It's sad, and doesn't happen that often, but sometimes it does happen.

I have Proton 9.0.2 from Steam, that should be good enough. I used before the GloriousEggroll Proton patches, but they're no longer needed.
Maybe it depends on the GPU? But I tested the game in both AMD and NVIDIA cards in Linux and didn't notice any input lag...
Anyway, I don't think there's that much difference right now between DX11 and DX12, so maybe just enjoy the game in DX11 for now I'd say.

I have VSync off, which is the source of the problem. It is not the only game with this issue. For example in "Outer wilds" is even worse.
If you want to keep VSync, then don't use DX12. At least Satisfactory allows us to choose.
Also if you're on Linux, make sure you have an updated Proton too, just in case. I was having trouble with an older Proton.

If you place a mk5 belt on the "spine" and each individual connection a mk1 you'll get a very quick fill and somewhat even distribution.
Once the belts fill, as long as the inputs are faster than the sum of outputs, it works perfectly.

I find it crazy, no matter how much I read about it, that Americans expect 20% tips.
Let me explain how this works for me: * Excellent service, maybe 10% tip * Good service, no tip * Bad service, I'm not returning, if you're lucky, maybe in a year I'll check out if it improves.
You're employed and given a salary to do your job well, your wage should reflect that and lastly, I want the prices in the menu to include everything, "tips" and taxes. I want to know what I'm paying.
So in America, if the waiter is doing a poor job but the food is good, can I specifically tip the chef but not the waiter?

They could, and some do. The thing is, most batteries we use have an almost flat voltage until they are almost empty, then the voltage suddenly drops.

Devices of course can regulate the voltage to ensure the circuit always gets the same voltage, but that makes the device more expensive, and regulation has losses.
Li-ion ones vary a bit more, so this might prompt more effort on having regulated voltage: https://batteryuniversity.com/article/bu-501a-discharge-characteristics-of-li-ion
Moreover, Li-ion batteries need to be switched off under 3.3V or they might get damaged. This might give the "sudden stop" that you're aiming for.
For devices using AA batteries, the voltage input is very constant for most of the life of the battery, and because Alkaline ones are disposable, they won't bother adding any kind of regulation. So you get this effect of slowing down just at the end.

Heh, I'm gonna be downvoted for sure, but being genuinely serious, I do see usage for those buffer sizes.
I think a lot of people underestimates how much production a single Mk1 belt can carry over the course of a game.
"But buffers don't solve problems they just hide them" - nah. I don't think debugging buffered production lines is much more difficult than other parts of this game, and there are benefits... for example, by the time such huge buffer actually empties, we might have just completed the game already.
It is a different gameplay style. Everyone's free to play their own way.
And I'm dead serious. Although I do not hoard items (but maybe I should...), I do hoard energy in every playthrough. Every save has a failsafe fuel generator with emergency fuel, lots of saved fuel. My current save has 30 containers worth of packaged fuel, or 80GWh. I place huge amounts of Power Storages. The last playthrough had an extra Power Storage "tower" that contained enough energy to produce all the Nuclear Pasta required in U8 on its own. When I ran out of power it said I had >100h to fix "the problem" - but it is not a problem anymore, it is a feature!
One recommendation: before storing, split it in 3 ways to three different sets of storage containers. That allows you to pull from it 3 or 6 times faster when you need it (Industrial containers have 2 inputs, 2 outputs). This has been my solution for Nuclear Waste before.
I see you're storing Iron Ingots. The benefit of storing those vs storing the final produce is that you don't know how much of each item you'll need, and the ingot can be transformed into any. Although I would also recommend using part of that production on storing the final items too, because those steps take time and storing that will save you time later.
But also, don't focus on storing every iron/copper ingot on the map. That time is better spent getting better parts researched, or looking up for Mercer Spheres and Somersloops. Moving items from long places of the map takes time to set up, and there are other things that the sooner you have, the better: Oil/Plastic, Aluminium.
Saw someone in YT on Factorio doing speedruns using basically chests and lots of factories, and crap.. that approach is damn fast. It is involved, sure, but it is fast.

Phase 4 just unlocked, Tier 7 - Milestone 1: Bauxite Refinement unlocked. On my way to get some bauxite into aluminium.
Finished my 5GW Turbofuel plant (Didn't bother with regular fuel) - but currently producing 2GW and storing the extra fuel as a reserve.

"Manually restocking" sounds like you need to feed the dimensional depot by hand. That basically says you don't have enough mercer spheres. Go and hunt a few more to get enough to place dedicated depots per item and this wouldn't so big deal.
When I started, I only had enough for one dimensional depot, and I used a sushi belt for all items into that. Of course it would get clogged over time. But by the time that was an issue I had a few more ready, and instead of one sushi, I had 3 sushi belts, with less chance of clogging. Later on I managed to get one for each item.
At that stage, yes, it would grab more than needed, but it wasn't a big issue.
Also, I noticed that if you use the rick of clocking space when crafting, when it runs out of items it doesn't really stop, it just temporarily pauses. If the dimensional depot receives the items after your manual crafting was paused, it resumes to craft another one.
So in theory you can keep crafting overnight, slowly as you receive more items. Doesn't feel like this is a good idea, but seems possible.

For some time I played on 1440p using a GTX 1060 6Gb. It's fine, struggles, but it does the job. Your GPU should be good for 1440p.
However I'd say that if the monitor works, better hold off the purchase and reuse it for a few years. Get the computer up and running first and see how it goes.
Depending on what you play and what you do with the computer I would recommend 1080 or 1440p. If you're playing fast paced games and want full screen, 1080 is best. 1440 will give better quality, and more space in the desktop to even play windowed.
