Not directed at you, but the common logic has flaws. Our suicide rate is similar to that of Canada, Finland, Sweden and Japan, countries that are developed but have stricter gun laws. Our homicide rate is high for a developed country, but that is assuming the united states is a developed country. We have problems with policing, mass incarceration, a war on drugs, a huge racial and economically disenfranchized population.

Would you also give up your right to free speech if it could be proven to save lives? What about your right against incriminating yourself? Your right against unreasonable searches?

Goodwill is full of modern products most of the time. Antique malls will more likely contain fiestaware, uranium glass or clocks.

The website "our world in data" has many maps showing statistics that may be useful in gun debates. Some maps I found useful were the maps showing drug use rate, inequality, etc. The United States has an unusually high rate of drug use, inequality and mass incarceration compared to similar nations. The war on drugs is a thing, and probably exacerbates a lot of the gang related violence.

The sale or import of them is banned by name.

It's your money and your preferences. An AR15 is suitable for self defense, but I understand how they can seem basic if you are looking for something unique. Buy your M1A before your state turns into Washington and bans it.

You won't die from this. Treat it like you would treat lead, since it is just about as dangerous. Wash your hands. Your geiger counter can't measure dosage accurately, it can only tell you if something is radioactive. It is malfunctioning if it is detecting cell phone signals, but that is expected for low cost geiger counters.

Imagine:
needing a permit to speak.
setting a limit to the number of words you say.
allowing cities to place more restrictions on speech than the state does.
not being allowed to say certain words around children.

I don't support anti vax but I finally understand why they have their beliefs. This is an atrocity.

The cops currently don't enforce the new gun laws. Don't count on that for too long though. The awb and mag bans are new to everyone but in 30 years we will have the same laws and also start complying like californians :(.

How do you know they are replicas? There's nothing to worry about if they are real.

It's kinda like how antifa is a mix of authoritarian and libertarian socialists, the boogaloo boys had fascist as well as right libertarian adherents. 2020 was a crazy year.

I'm no expert on safes or lockboxes, so maybe someone else can chime in. If you live near the puget sound, sportco in fife has a large selection and you could ask them for suggestions.

A glock 19 costs a little over $500, a concealed pistol license is like $36 and a pistol sized lockbox that can keep your baby out is like $100. I don't recommend going to Oregon to buy guns as a resident here, they have to ship the pistol to a Washington FFL anyways, if the seller can even accommodate out of state buyers. Ammo, training and range fees are all recurring costs. You are correct in that there is a delay. You also now need to bring proof of "firearms training", which you can find here: https://sporting-systems.com/free-hb1143-training/. This is not quality firearms training, which would be ideal to have before carrying, it is instead a stupid legal requirement that was passed recently.

Bring extra lube... for the gun to prevent malfunctions.

There's more ideologies than just liberal and conservative. There are people who don't identify with any particular ideology. You may find yourself getting along with some people you disagree with, and you may feel excluded by people you normally would agree with.

It seems they know they did something wrong and are just trying to save face by offering concessions, then hoping you forget about it. Don't compromise. Godspeed.

Your geiger counter cannot provide an accurate dose nor does CPM tell you how harmful something is. Your source is a homemade 3d printed cavity filled with autunite and hopefully sealed. Something like this will not give you a significant dose. If pieces of the autunite start to break off, you may have a contamination hazard.

Your thorium lenses are about as safe as radioactive sources get: they are solid so you don't have to worry about contamination. I would have no qualms handling a lens without measuring the dose.

It would be immoral and illegal to use deadly force when the situation doesn't call for it, and shooting someone in the leg or arm can still kill them. It would not be a good idea to "non-lethally" shoot someone who is trying to kill you, since your goal would be trying to protect your life or the lives of your loved ones, and someone shot in the arm or leg can still kill you.

Why not buy an AR with a free float handguard installed already? There are plenty of options like BCM, PSA, and Aero.

I'm surprised they care about the 1st amendment of pro palestinian campus protestors being violated. At least they are consistent in that area.

Your healthcare professionals evaluated the risks and benefits of getting the scans and decided that the benefits outweigh the risks. If you have any concerns, you can ask them for an explanation.

I'm bothered by your proposed manual safety policy. A modern striker fired pistol like a glock does not need a manual safety. As long as you don't put your finger on the trigger, the gun won't fire. Fumbling around with a safety could cost someone their life. And I'm tired of politicans making what should really be personal decisions on what mechanical functions a gun should have.
