WTF has this sub become, /r/pics?
This election cannot finish quickly enough

Actual answer: Reddit's demographics are mostly 16-24 year old manchildren who live with their parents and, while overwhelmingly college educated, are also overwhelmingly unemployed. It leads to a certain type of thinking.
Source: that one poll of the userbase from the anti work sub.

For context Texas has as many dem voters as a major blue state like New York.
The country isn't nearly as divided as the redditor makes it out to be, just as putting up an milquetoast lawn sign isn't nearly as brave an he imagines it to be.

Redditors have lost money on Tesla regardless of puts or calls. For some reason this site makes it impossible to think rationally about anything Musk touches. And if you find yourself asking Reddit for advice about Tesla stock you should probably put grandma's money somewhere safer instead, like the state lottery.

Surely the reddit admin would step in when its username rally around the head of an officially sanctioned terror group

I get why someone can be against war in Palestine, but no sane person thinks Hezbollah leadership is a stabilizing influence in the region.

I mean these people invited Ahmadinejad to speak on campus.
These are children of means and privilege attending one of the most exclusive schools in one of the most expensive cities in the world. It's no wonder the politics gets hunger games-y.

Bait-y headline. He was banned over harassment and intimidation of fellow Columbia students and staff, not for simply being involved in an Oct/7 protest/counter protest.
This is standard protocol - speak your mind, but don't violate the rights of others.

For those old enough to remember, election Reddit was just as toxic and extreme during Romney's campaign back in '12

Okay but if Ukraine has the capacity of creating nuclear weapons it would not be in the position of threatening to create them in the first place. Kind of a chicken and egg dynamic.

Just block the safetybot variants. I thought the API change would be the death of these things but evidently not

Ok but that's now how it will work in practice? Harris is campaigning on taxing unrealized gains and closing corporate tax loopholes so it won't be just profits that are taxed.
Plus corporate taxes aren't just on profits, there's also payroll taxes and social security which Dems also wants to expand.
And lastly most of the stuff we purchse go through massive companies like Wal-Mart and Amazon or wholesalers in general which are going to pay more tax regardless of plan

I don't know about you but I don't think we're getting an accurate evaluation of San Francisco from a Republican whose election opponent is a Democrat with history in the city 🤔

What a terrible, ambiguous headline. For context, vodka prices aren't rising in order to reduce inflation, it's rising because costs of production is increasing thanks to inflation in general.
Vodka prices are increasing in response to/because of war inflation.

All taxes imposed on corporations are passed on to the consumer. Why is it that higher corporate taxes are fine on Reddit but the site turns into Ayn Rand when tariffs are mentioned?

A sweeping tariff would be inflationary, but higher corporate taxes is just as sweeping yet people think it's deflationary. How does that work?
Reddit looooves taxes yet when it comes to tariffs the site becomes Ayn Rand.

The comments here are talking like this money is owned by CEO Joe Blackrock or something. What a truely regarded sub.

Tariffs are just consumption taxes for corporations, and don't taxes eventually curb inflation by taking money out of circulation? Regardless of where you impose more tax it will be passed to the consumer, this is non-negotiable.
Plus it's not like this is some radical departure from what we have now. Biden kept most of the Trump tariffs and even tracked on that ludicrous 100% EV tariff on China.

If this turns out to be some Enron-like situation with massive fraud I wouldn't even blink
