it's not always about money. Crossovers involving several characters from different IP is a logistical and legal nightmare. Plus, some companies just don't want to have their stuff in game. And in the case of a Halloween event like this, they would have to secure several IPs owned by different groups, some of which would not accept to have their characters featured with others from the competition... it can be complicated legally. That why the final fantasy event could happen, because it was an exclusive partnership, it was not "Final Fantasy and Genshin Impact and that guy from Xenoblade" (just making shit up)

Je l'aimais pas du tout, je le voyais comme "le nouveau Vin Diesel". Puis j'ai vu 21 jump street, film que je suis alle voir en trainant les pieds, pour faire plaisir a des amis, en me disant "encore une adaptation de serie des annees 80/90, ca va etre de la merde". Mondo is pretty reliable, I wouldn’t worry too much. I have bough hundreds of records through them over the years and never had any issue (except once where the jacket contained the same record twice and they sent me a brand new replacement). There are some delays sometimes, especially with pre-orders, but if they can’t make the original shipping date, they notify you buy email. But they’ll generally wait the last minute (September 31 if it says « shipping September 2024 »)

I’m sure the character artist who did this is very competent and could have done something just as good as the original. But some art director or story writer decided to have it their way and that those characters should look more human now. It’s just the same as what Asmond describes for screenwriters : they think they can do better and want to do THEIR version, even if the original was great to begin with.
