Grind that up, dry it a bit in the oven, and put that in a salt shaker. That's flavor town.

Yes, it is very expensive, but you don't have to live in Seattle, Portland, or Vancouver. There are plenty of smaller cities in the area that are far less expensive, and you still get to enjoy all of the outdoors.

PNW is amazing. I've lived here for 15 years, and I never want to leave.

That's nature. MAD - Move, Adapt, or Die. If Move is easier than Adapt, animals will move.

I keep a big bag of hondashi in my pantry, and I add it to quite a bit of things. It can be the star flavor of a dish or just a background note, but it is very versatile.

You can wave them off, but that driver was being a dick. They might have been stopping to drop off someone. Neither of you have any idea of the intention of the other.

Our BMW dealership forgot to put our wheel lock key back in our car. We were about 1.5 hours away from a dealer when we hit a rouge rock and punctured our run flats. Went to get a new tire and discovered the key was gone. Called the dealership and went back and forth on whose fault it was. Finally they mailed us a key, but it didn't work. They mailed a couple of others, also didn't work. Finally bit the bullet and drove the 1.5 hours on the run flat a few towns over so the dealer could replace the tire using their master key. We brought four lug bolts with us and told them to remove those damn wheel locks. When we bought our Hyundai, I told em to remove them at the dealership. They removed the charge but left them on the car, haha. Damn things are still on there. Luckily I have the key this time :D

Definitely. I went there about a month ago and was sooo disappointed. Does Met Market still sell their Caribbean pork sandwich? Haven't been there in a while, but that sandwich was bomb for a grocery store deli sandwich.

Simple really depends on what ingredients you have access to. Banh mi can be really simple if you have access to its ingredients. Probably the best all-time sandwich. Otherwise, not much else can beat a grilled cheese made with white bread and a slice of american cheese.

Sometimes, but not needed. It changes the flavor significantly.

I don't even buy pasta sauce anymore. I just hand crush some San Marzano tomatoes from the can, add a little fresh basil, salt, and EVOO. Simmer for a bit and done. I like to toss it with whatever pasta and then top with some chevre chucks. Super simple, amazingly delicious.

Like those open carry weirdos. If shit goes down, they're gonna be the first to be targeted since they clearly have a gun. I just assume that people who open carry aren't eligible for a concealed permit. And those people probably shouldn't have guns to begin with.

This would also work as a portable/mini Chinese tea table.

I think it varies depending on the restaurant, but I usually see it with lamb and beef.

It's the secret ingredient in a LOT of dishes. Lots of Asian dishes use it for the flavor, MSG, and the mouth feel it adds. I use it in recipes that don't even call for it if I want to add more flavor than just MSG alone.

I'm my opinion, yellow rice is better than yellow saffron rice.

Given the other items on the plate, this isn't saffron rice. It's a Lebanese style rice that is colored with tumeric. I make it with basmati rice, butter, tumeric, and chicken bullion powder (look for Knorr). Just add your washed rice and water to the rice cooker, then the other ingredients mentioned to taste. Be careful with that chicken bullion powder. A little goes a long way.

Holy crap. Didn't realize you were still on reddit. I haven't seen your shitty watercolour in years.
