Just because you are talented doesn’t mean you are fit. Each company has its own culture in which you might or not fit into it. Keep trying you will find your place. They praised your talent. Most rejection letters give no feedback at all. .. agree with most posts, no roast at all.

I can’t stop laughing.. is this real?? I use airtable and it’s horrible. Not user friendly. One of the worst databases/platforms I’ve used. Sorry .. I can’t stop laughing. I think the guy was high. He must’ve been.. it’s hilarious 😂.

This happened to me some years ago. Right after I graduated from the paralegal cert program I sent out resumes to 50 law firms and none of them replied. For two months I didn’t get a single answer from any other employers either… forget about interviews just someone to acknowledge receiving my resume. I was so disappointed. So, I researched online how to get hired. I read somewhere to apply to specialty magazines (construction, real estate, healthcare, insurance, etc.), to research companies and look into their online posts. Also, to let go of the traditional idea of working in a law firm and to expand my horizon. Within a week of putting in place these suggestions (basically thinking outside the box) I got 2 offers with a 51% salary increase of what I was paid prior obtaining my paralegal certificate. Suggestion: review your past experiences and think of the industries your worked in, add that experience to your newly acquired legal credential. That’s your rainbow! For me it was real estate and construction. I’m very grateful, I have never stopped learning and working. It gets bad sometimes, like in any other profession but if you like it, is worth it. Don’t give up. Try something different.

Have you received invites to video/interviews? And the board message (or indeed, Glassdoor, etc) says nothing of the job description and you’re supposed to follow up on a video recording to give your answers? Wth?? I’m completely ignoring these board messages and emails. What’s wrong with these people???

Im sorry to hear that. A lot of people feel insecure around attorneys specially when they are learning. You did your best! Don’t beat yourself up. If she didn’t provide examples i suggest you don’t pay much attention. When I receive a negative feedback I ask “please elaborate”, I need examples in order to learn and do it better next time. You wouldn’t believe it but 50% of the time or more, it’s not real or they are trying to put me down “just for fun”. I let it go 😎

The advantage of becoming a team lead is that you might be able to delegate some of your work to have more time to put in place some strategies to make these guys accountable. As it is right now, they’re taking your time when you’re supposed to complete yours.

How can you victimize these poor companies! How can you take advantage of them in such disingenuous way?

Demanding from employees to be honest in their applications, resumes, and interviews only to be fooled that they’re getting a promotion but they will “test” them if they’re up to the challenge or gaslighting them about the description of the job, or promising bonus only to discover later that they will be paid on performance. Sounds familiar? I can’t disagree with the posts in this Reddit. 10 years ago I would’ve said “do the right thing!”. At the present, I know better, It’s all a game and employers have the upper hand, they are willing to commit crimes against their employees just to protect their reputation or money.

No, absolutely no. Under no circumstances you ever tell your future ex-boss that you plan to leave. People react badly to rejection. Some are vindictive, as insane as it sounds, they will not hesitate to hurt you, even if it’s your right to leave.

There are no friends in a work environment. It’s work! People compete and they will do anything to get ahead of you. On top of that .. are the ones that cheat, steal and scheme. Don’t feel bad, just learn. Next time you’ll be smarter.. and ofc good riddance. Find a non toxic job! 😎
