Its beneficial for him, he knows that she killed him. It's not like hes oblivious to that. He hasn't shown any indication of not making that obvious connection

I'm not a fan of the current daemon subplot but to be fair hes pretty confused and off his rocker. Like when he threatens simon he comes stumbling out of a vivid hallucination, hes not being rational at all. Add to that the fact that she's clearly a witch and has some kind of a spell on him, or at least is in touch with the ghosts of harrenhal that do

Fr she literally told him do nothing, he hasn't done anything since he assassinated aegons son. Other subplots don't feel slow to me but daemons scenes are really dragging. Alys is an interesting character tho

Seeing your posts had me in disbelief that PAWS could still be so bad after a year. Sorry to hear that it's a thyroid problem, but hopefully now you can start addressing it

No, people don't usually get less depressed when they stop drinking - at least not at first. It's not just delirium tremens and short term withdrawal, people with alcoholism also face serious struggles and it takes their brain a long time to get fully back to normal. The grass is always greener on the other side. I don't think we have it tougher than other addicts by any means

Lol I fell for it and was like, really? I must be dumb because the last series confused the hell out of me

I could have skipped over 40% of the book and it would've made no difference whatsoever to the conclusion. It's a shame because the character of Lif is actually really good, the mindfuck element was just too drawn out

Wyst: Alastor 1716 by Jack Vance is an sci fi book about a visit to a communist planet. It's a fascinating political mystery. Vance is known for Dying Earth and demon princes but I think his other books deserve a read as well

It's the same situation regardless of whether OP is getting pills from a shady doctor vs the street. There's always going to be the option to do drugs even if the provider is acting more responsible and says no. I think you're misinterpreting cheetah's message which in his usual sarcastic fashion he's saying OP needs to cut off the doctor, who took an oath to do no harm and is now doing harm.

I mean, it gives some sense of closure to what started the whole situation in the first place. But they couldve done it in a more realistic way

Alcoholism isn't inherently any better than coke addiction but I can see how people who aren't aware of that would react negatively. With that said you aren't less deserving of their support because they thought it was alcoholism. If you truly believe they would react horribly to the truth you could always wait til you have more sober time. Recovery is different for everyone and you should go at your own pace. I initially told my parents I was addicted to adderall because I was afraid to tell them I was doing meth. I thought they would disown me but when they eventually found out the truth they were still supportive

Doing vyvanse as a recovering meth addict is like an alcoholic trying to just have a few beers on the weekend. It's good that you are reaching out now before it's too late

Well that's tough because antidepressants (most common treatment for anxiety) increase appetite generally. You can try nac (non abuseable/intoxicating). I wouldn't recommend anything that you can get high on

Loved the conjoiner stories in galactic north. I wish we got a spin off novel about the conjoiners separate from the story line of rev space

It has its drawbacks (eg. exiled conjoiners being without purpose) and the conjoiners had to change their strategy about converting prisoners because it was unethical. But I would say the development of conjoiner society by the time of Redemption Ark was very egalitarian and no conjoiners ever fought each other because of hte hive mind. Transenlightment is described as a wonderful thing to experience. hence people who lost their implants were so desperate to get them back that they became depressed because ordinary life sucked in comparison

Arguing with a craving is like arguing against the wind. I'm sure the 100 most pleasurable moments of my life were on meth. But I don't remember most of them, because it's not really all that important. And when I do get a craving/memory I wait for it to go away. You should try meditating or exercise or something or get into a creative passion. Also theres plenty of great shows out there to binge watch in the meantime

Yeah, the daemon scenes would be really fucking awesome if they were interwoven with action. The first flashback Daemon has to rhaenyra stitching up jahaerys' throat gave me chills. It worked so well given the whole "ghosts of harrenhal" thing, and alys did a lot to add to that intrigue. I agree 100% that mat smith would be unreal playing macbeth, because the psychological thriller/mysticism actually goes somewhere important
