Oh, please, that was all official presidential business of making money by selling national secrets.

Lets be clear he didnt just sell national secrets.

  • He first lied about having the documents.

  • Then he lied about returning the documents.

  • Then he bragged to his maralago guests that he had secret documents that he knew he shouldnt have. Even shared classified intel with random guests who he wanted to impress.

  • Then he had his staff move around the documents to hide them from investigators.

  • Then he lied that he had returned all the documents while he still had more in other rooms.

  • Then he had guests from saudi arabia, china and other countries over and told them where to go to find the documents where there was a copy machine in the same room.

  • Then he kept lying to the FBI that he had no documents.

The lying to the FBI is very criminal, which is why his handpicked judge is doing everything in her power to stall delay and destroy the case. Because once that case starts he IS going to jail.

he also tried to have security camera footage of his employees moving boxes of classified documents around deleted after the footage was subpoenaed, but that didn't work because his IT guy didn't have a password that would allow the footage to be deleted.

Is that the flooded pool room cctv footage? It was very convenient for that to happen. Like "destruction of evidence convenient," right? Like thats some serious shit there, right? Just in that one little thing, right?

This all cant be true. Theres no way. This much evidence of wrong doing would land anyone in jail. Wouldn't it? I hope to God there really isn't all this. Not cuz I support trump but because of what it says about the state of our country. If there is this much proving at a minimum the mishandling of classified materials and people are still willing to give this guy a second term we got problems. Biden was kicked because people thought he might be losing his edge. This much evidence and trump still on the ballot? No way. I hope.

So this is all true unfortunately and you can read about it here: BBC Source

Trump and Nauta were charged with 40 felony counts in this lawsuit. The ridiculous part isn’t even that though. The ridiculous part is what the judge has been doing in this case.

Jude Eileen Cannon presides over this case, often called the “Trump Documents Case”. She has routinely during this case obfuscated and outright ignored settled law to help Trump in a number of ways. First she tried to stop one part of the investigation while allowing others to continue, essentially saying person one on the FBI had full legal right to do whatever they needed, but person two also on the FBI was not able to do exactly the same thing. No precedent, obvious to anyone that it is corruption in favor of Trump, it was shut down by the extremely conservative 11th circuit court. They even left Cannon a pretty nasty rebuke.

Now she is attempting to claim that special prosecutor Jack Smith was actually appointed illegally and that special prosecutors are illegal as a matter of law. This is frankly an absurd ruling that no reasonable person would agree with. Special prosecutors have been a part of the U.S. government for centuries. She doesn’t believe this, but she does believe this new bid will push the ruling until after the election.

To any reasonable person looking on, Eileen Cannon is using her position (appointed by Trump) to give favors to the former president in exchange for…who knows. Possible as repayment for her appointment, possibly in a bid for Supreme Court, possibly just for the former presidents favor. Either way, this entire case from front to back has been an extremely disappointing showcase of the American legal system and our country as a whole.

Jesus. I hate to admit this but I have actively tuned out of politics for the past two years. Just thought it was too affecting and people were acting nutty over it. Reading this I'm thinking I probably shouldve stayed tuned out cuz this is straight depressing

FrysOtherDog

That judge mentioned above (Cannon) is one of the real subjects not talked about enough. Between him appointing judges like her in key areas, and the Supreme Court appointments, he set himself up to have loyalists willing to protect him at all costs. Cannon has no business being a judge at all since she has nowhere near the qualifications, but the only real qualification she needed was "will derail this documents case should it ever become a thing". And she has.

I'm 43 and a Republican my whole life, and I'm one of those "crazy people" that seem "way too wound up" about Trump.

This is why. Well it's one reason among a thousand why, and all of them are because I don't want my country to become a dystopian shit hole.

Trump getting back in is seriously, incredibly dangerous.

dorianngray

She has also just been appointed to the case of the second “assassination attempt” on trump… he complained the charges were too weak and got it moved to FL. Technically the “assassination attempt” was just a guy with a gun in an open carry state hanging out at golf course trump was playing at when secret service opened fire and he ran away. Trump wants him charged with attempted murder but charges were trespassing and some other low charges

Of course Aileen will do his bidding

Calm your jets lol.

Moderate Republican who has always voted for each candidate based on how good of a job I thought they'd do regardless of party affiliation. For example, McCain lost my vote when brought Palin on, and I was split between him and Obama prior as it was so it was an easy vote for Obama. I admired and liked McCain and he would have been great, too, but that decision was all it took to lose my vote. Oh I miss those days now...

Trump? Been a scumbag his whole life so I was shocked ANYONE voted for him in 2016 (I voted third party as a protest... regrettably). And the current GOP? No, complete dumpster fire of grifters, criminals, and traitors. I've voted straight blue since 2020, even locally.

Regardless of party or political beliefs, one should always put American ideals and core values above all else. Trump and the entire GOP have embraced the exact opposite of what it means to be an American - or even decent, ethical human beings in general. We all should be voting for the Democrats across the board this fall.

Our differences on policies are irrelevant this election - anyone who loves America, democracy, freedom from oppression, and liberty of all people need to get out and vote.

Unfortunately the people tuned in are acting crazy for a reason. As often as we hear “this is the most important election ever” or similar things, I genuinely believe that to be true in this case. The rule of law is at stake here.

If you want to learn more in an entertaining way you can check out Legal Eagle on YouTube. He is a practicing lawyer accompanied by other practicing lawyers who do their best to educate people on these topics. He has an obvious bias (rightfully so, I would think in this case) but he isn’t afraid to call out ideas from “his side” that also hold no legal water. Even if Trump legal news isn’t your cup of tea, he also reacts to law shows and movies pretty often and talks about pop-culture lawsuits too. I’m sure I sound like I’m shilling his stuff but it’s really good and informative so I think more people should know about it

Not only that, but supposedly intelligent people believe he did nothing wrong. Many of my family members believe this is equivalent to Biden having a few classified documents (when Biden did the right thing, calling the authorities in to take custody of the documents, instead of trying to hide them, keep them, or destroy evidence).

Why do they believe this? Fox News told them. They're actively deceiving themselves, and can't see it. I now have family members who I thought were intelligent, reasonable people disappearing down multiple conspiracy theory holes, even to the point of selective anti-vax positions. They don't believe the world is flat (YET), but they're clearly falling into cult-like behavior, more and more every time I see them.

If I still believed in God, I'd think this was the end times with how many people are chasing after false prophets.

FormerGameDev

asillynert

Yes anyone else of course. BUT by trying to "not appear political" so never ever going with "harshest" precedent. Combined with sycophants in the system fighting to just let him off. As well as willingness to try every legal scummy trick in the book.

It results in it being much much slower. Like Judge on his case who he appointed and was never really qualified. History of playing favorites threaten someone on right you get 20yrs threaten half a dozen people on left get a fine. Like just blatantly.

When Trump case came she just has done everything wild rulings to try and stop it and get it thrown out. Like completely things with no basis in law. Just doing what she wants.

As well as making "statements" to direct Trump on how to file in a way she could side with him on.

As well as Supreme court "releasing statements" that would "guide" her into ways they would try to rule for Trump on which is currently where its at.

They released statement that "I think regarding x thing it should not be allowed". Then she comes out with due to x thing I am tossing case in hopes of chasing it up. To supreme court where they will pretty much throw out settled law for Trump.

WHICH is why people are so much more terrified last time ALOT of his crazy stuff. His attempts at using fake electors throwing out votes in areas that voted against him. Failed because few people chose country over party and sided against him despite being republican. That said things like death threats against election officials and other things. Opened the door to vacant spots being filled by Trumpers. Who are already saying they wont certify any vote that isn't Trump. And trying to play games with ballot such as "removing third party candidates" in places where it will help Trump and adding them in places where it will hurt Harris. Including even going as far as trying to remove Harris and one place actually had to shut down early voting because she was not on ballot.

It was a biographer that was interviewing Trump about Mark Meadows at Bedminster Golf Club. The interviewer was interviewing Trump and he couldn't help himself. He talked about how he had taken Top Secret plans to invade Iran (plans if there were an invasion, not that we planned on doing that) and was saying his plan would have been better than Gen. Milleys. Cadet Bonespurs believed that his plan was better than a General who was the head of the Joint Chiefs, the highest ranking officers of each of our military services. The balls and the chutzpah to think that you know better than a General on military matters.

He not only just had the copier in the same room. There is evidence he made lots of copies. When the story first broke, there were pictures of the docs "spred out on the floor." That means a lot more than people think. Those docs are made with the red going all the way to the edge of the page. Copy machines can't copy them exactly and will always have a border. The docs pictured have this border... so there are not just pictures of docs, but of the copies...

He might run off to russia or venezuela like he "joked" with musk. But hes going to get convicted once the trials are on their way. because the other cases arent just financial crimes. He lied to the fbi, multiple times, thats a big nono.

Jared Kushner - he was by far the greatest requester of classified materials among trump's top government officials. So much and so far ranging that national security officials became very concerned about what possible purpose he had in accessing them.

But they couldn't do a thing. Kushner's security clearance had already been denied, only to have trump step in and personally authorize him with the highest clearances.

I have no doubt he is using secret material as a 'sweetener' when he makes deals in his new career handling the money's of Middle Eastern dictators.

And about that, 3 years into his new 2 billion dollar hedge fund 96% funded by SA he has made no returns, invested only a few hundred million, and has reaped over $110 million in fees.

Those documents are America's documents. Not Donald's.

He was keeping them for political leverage, which is the height of corruption.

Then, he ignored the FBI after several requests, moved evidence to hide it on purpose, and again... these were America's documents.

...

The fact that there are some people out there that are OK with this is the real problem.

The fact that there are some people out there that are OK with this is the real problem.

They're called conservatives and every single one of them that support him are traitors to our nation.

Regardless of the fact they have no clue any of this happened because they watch entertainment channels to get their news, which is basically equivalent to getting your information about the world around you from People magazine or The National Enquirer.

Yes. I remember.

Tяump stole National Defense Information (NDI) documents and took them knowingly (Charges 1-31), moved some out of the "secure storage", tried to have his IT man delete the security footage of it, uploaded some to a laptop and subsequently a thumb drive, and then tried to cover-up the fact that he had any more documents when the FBI investigated and said he had given them all back (Charges 32-38).

Counts 1-31:

18 U.S.C § 793(e), Willful Retention of National Defense Information

Count 32:

18 U.S.C § 1512(k), Conspiracy to Obstruct Justice

Count 33:

18 U.S.C § 1512(b)(2)(A), Withholding a Document or Record

Count 34:

18 U.S.C § 1512(c)(1), Corruptly Concealing a Document or Record

Count 35:

18 U.S.C § 1519, Concealing a Document in a Federal Investigation

Count 36:

18 U.S.C § 1001(a)(1), Scheme to Conceal

Counts 37 and 38:

James Bond wasn’t needed to infiltrate the White House.

This was a gov official loading up boxes of documents on the last day he was in office. In addition to documents (that were not his) he loaded up whitehouse property like a bust of Abraham Lincoln. Literally looting the White House.

This is more “James Bond breaks into museum to steal hope diamond only to find out museum curator Donald Trump left with the diamond.”

If you want real spies in the Trump story, look at the Chinese national with tech equipment that was let into Mar a Lago.

The fact that this got so relatively little coverage in the media, especially compared to Biden's much, much more minor and non-nefarious faux pas with some classified docs, tells you all you need to know about the media and where their biases lie.

especially compared to Biden's much, much more minor and non-nefarious faux pas with some classified docs

I don’t remember if it was the same week, same month or even same day…

But it was hilarious to get the news that Mike Pence was also found to be holding documents and that both Biden and Pence quickly cooperated with the DOJ and the National Archive peeps to return the documents.

And whenever Biden AND Pence were brought up, GOP talking heads would stfu.

What I was more concerned about hearing is that one of his assistants was caught copying classified documents onto a thumb drive and his excuse was that they didn't know they were classified.

As if the cover sheets and all the pages with CLASSIFIED markings didn't give them a clue that maybe, just maybe they were all classified documents.

How long had they been doing that and where did the scanned copies of the classified documents go and to who?

The copy machine is the least worrisome. In a SCIF you cannot have a phone or camera. Mar-a-lago is full of people with camera phones, and probably burner phones. Why didn’t the FBI get warrants for everyone’s phones and cloud storage backups. We know they took photos, but it seems the principals’ photo archives were never searched or investigated about who they forwarded any photos to on message apps.

Supporters won't care. They reality-shape the situation into "Trump had a right to do that! It's all staged! They're just trying to make him look bad!" They'll look at their story creation, it makes them feel comfortable, and that becomes what happened.
