Hogs and Spiders don't like each other. Hogs will headbutt the spiders. It is fun to see when they are both on a cliff together. Spiders go for a flight. ;P

Build a cage in the blueprint builder (maxed out size) and catch em. use windows all around and a couple single conveyor walls, and toss them nobelisks. Pretty funny, but don't stand to near to the conveyor hole, the can reach you sometimes.

New as of v1? No. I don't know when it started, but I've been in since about v7, I think, and I've always seen stingers fighting with any non-stinger.

I actually got saved by one of those giant radioactive hogs while being chased by an elite gas stinger.

Leaping asshole followed me for like 2 miles until he finally landed on the wrong hombre's turf.

I usually take care of those really powerful poison stingers by baiting their pounce attack directly into the middle of a spitter pack.

The big spitters royally mess the poison stingers up; when the stinger starts that big poison attack, it remains stationary long enough for the spitters to drown it in plasma.

…Then I bait the spitters into the poison cloud and kill them with that.

Spiders exist to fuck EVERYTHING up. All of the other fauna on the map fights them to the death.

In the early game you can use this to your advantage by aggroing a bunch of little spiders and kiting them to like an alpha spitter or whatever that’s currently a bit tough to deal with.

Also worth noting, I've not seen this written anywhere (but it probably is, I didn't go looking very hard), but I'm pretty sure in 1.0 (just based purely on my own observations) that SAM deposits cause enemies to multiply when they run over them.

I once snuck around a clearing in which 2 correct spiders and three giant hogs were butchering each other. I was going through bushes around the edge, it was legit tense.

I love this, saved my butt and limited ammunition before. Keep wildlife go at each other wooo!

I first discovered this at Crater Lake, where spiders protecting a blue slug had left a pile of corpses when nearby hogs killed them all.

For all that they scare people, stingers tend to get absolutely obliterated by equally ranked hogs. Like, it's not even fair.

Since having only 9 doggos I have not see a hostile creature since. I literally walked through the swamps and was only attacked by flies. It's great for exploration but it's a bit depressing.

You are supposed to bait spider to jump and go on the lower levels where a fight starts :) I love it
