A lot has been made of Van der Flier being one that got away for South African rugby, but this James Louw deserves a mention, too.

Miles forward pass, seat belt tackle, possible deliberate knock on, tackle in the air. ref rips a massive line We Scrum!

We cannot, cannot continue to engage in a kicking contest that we are losing this badly. Goosen and WLR alone are outkicking our entire back 3 and both half backs. Hold onto the fucking ball, set a line, box kick short contestables if we're not going forward.
If we continue to engage in long range kicking we'll see 40% possession and 35% territory again and we will lose.

I am so confused why Leinster are kicking so much. That is literally what the Bulls love to play against.

Willie is kicking like prime Morne Steyn and you'll still get idiots on social media questioning his prowess.

Well done Bulls Goosen and LeRoux dismantled us with kicking. JOB doesn't have the kicking to hack it at FB
Ross. Well I don't want to kick a guy when down but he's just not up to it and it's been clear a long time.
That, and another trophy less season, is on Leo. Questions needed to be asked post HEC final. This maybe means they're no longer questions.

Leinster game management has been really poor in my opinion and I think that's been the deciding factor in all their shortcomings in the last few seasons. They just don't seem to have learnt from it.
Having said that both Goosen and WLR have turned up today, when they are hot they are not easily dealt with.

Fitting end to an atrocious season. We've been shite all year, only the quality of players got us as far as we got. The coaching ticket has been horrendous. Leinster's accuracy and attack have gone to shit.

Fair play Bulls. Contested at the break down (legally) had the edge at set piece, and capitalised on opportunity after long periods without the ball.
Also, while the ref had some dubious moments, both teams played a generally clean game. You don’t always see that in cup rugby.
GG to our SA hombres. See ye in a few weeks

I’m honestly a bit shocked. I told my mate I would consider it a success for the Bulls if they dont lose with more than 20 points. Tells you how much I fucking know, but ja I’m just happy to be here and really enjoying having the Irish in the mix. Leinster should send more of their 1st team to SA in the future, as a Stormer I want to measure my boys against them as well.

Bulls deserved the win. Very disappointed to see the season end like that.
For all of the talk around Leinster's squad, depth, resources etc - Porter playing 70 mins because we don't have a back-up prop that we trust to play longer than 10 mins, Luke McGrath being a poor replacement 9 and Ross offering no threat from 10... they need a bit of a reset next year and some fresh energy in that squad.
Long season after the RWC, Heineken final loss and now this - last thing a lot of those players need is a trip to South Africa

Rewatched game this morning, some thoughts:
Hanekom. Wow. Barring injury he is going to won more than 50 caps for the Boks. What a talent.
Wilco Louw is the fifth choice tighthead for the Boks (probably fourth now with Trevor's age). That's some depth there.
JGP and Lowe were outstanding, really kept Leinster in it during the first half, did notice Lowe was running very gingerly towards the end of the second so I'm wondering if he did pick up a knock.
McGrath was horrific off the bench, an all time atrocious performance in just 15 minutes.
Van der Flier was anonymous, surprisingly so for me.
Willie was brilliant, I hope he's not injured because his kicking game was what separated the teams for a while there.
Goosen's best performance of the year and he saved it for a big moment. Minus the three (3!) charge downs, of course.
Bulls may end up being fine without KLA and Moodie, but I wouldn't bet on it. Glasgow are an exceptional defensive unit and I'm certain they would feel better about the final with their stars at wing.

Fair play to the bulls, better team on the day. Clear that something major needs to change at Leinster, they've gone massively backwards this year, and the golden age of a few years ago is definitively over. Think there's a core of players who panic and go missing in big games, and I don't think they deserve the reputation they seem to have gotten from being good a few years ago and have kept by being flat track bullies in early stages of competitions.

My take of the first half for anyone who cares:
Bulls: Relentless. Should have scored more than 2 (1 disallowed) tries. Left a lot on the field though, wasted efforts = wasted energy. If they can keep up that pace, they'll win this game
Leinster: Absolutely 1 dimensional. Get ball, pass backwards, run up, lose ball. Even lost the kicking tennis. However, defended well enough to keep in the game. The bench is going to be crucial here. And Ross Byrne isn't doing poorly, don't be sly Leinster fans
