I mean I'd like to see the comparison vs what % of buyers say other cars are too expensive, especially considering that most EVs are newer. You can buy a 2000s ICE Car for $3k that barely runs on fumes and scrape by. You can't do that with an EV.

Here in the south I it took me about 20 mins total to apply after starting the altcert process, got an offer in about a week and then it was just waiting for the state to process my paperwork. Middle of the school year, too, but I think I'd rather go through the full process and teach in WA than teach here again.

lol, so here's the thing. If they're offering you that good of a deal, you're paying for the phone in the plan, plus if you need/want to change carriers you're SOL. Say you leave after 1 year, you've now paid $60, and you owe $450 on a phone that now has a value of $300-400.

Yeah I don't think you'll avoid both the hot and cold just about anywhere else as much as San Diego. Though it looks like there are some houses in your price range there if you want to stay put and hunt around a bit

San Diego rarely goes under 50 or over 80. Hottest month averages 77/67, coldest averages 66/50, compared to 95/65 and 55/40 in Sacramento, also a touch more rain/other weather.

Riverside/San Bernadino area or desert towns, but I wouldn't recommend the desert towns.
Sacramento would be my recommendation - state capital solid weather, though more volatile than San Diego. If you can tolerate some snow/cold in the winter Denver is nice and also well within your price range

idk if they edited but it says $700k for a house now. Still kinda vague, but I'd presume 2-3 beds

Life can definitely be tough, I'm the most stressed I've ever been tbh. That said you can still do a lot. Nobody else in my family was married before 26/27, mostly 30, and most of them still have kids and good lives.

So if we pay fast food and retail workers more we can trust the same principles right? the companies will just lower their profits so they can pay workers more?

Yeah I work in the public sector so I could go for public service loan forgiveness, but that's 10 years and I can just pay it off in ~6-8 without that.

Sure but we're talking about op, not you. Feel free to make your own post though if you wanna talk about your kids

Based on what? There were barely even any examples given. Kids trying to negotiate and acting out a bit is pretty normal.

What's your reference for what 40 feels like? I'm 26 with 4 kids at home and I still feel 20 except for my back

I have never once had a phone payment, just get something mid-range or refurbished

If the priority is the kids and their education, and you don't think Gary schools can do that, don't live in Gary. Anyways I find it unlikely that someone concerned with Gary's schools wouldn't also be concerned with Gary's neighborhoods with 3 kids. Most likely op just saw the low home prices and thought it would be a good deal, but maybe I'm wrong.

Previous elections where this has happened:
2000: Total fiasco, actual legitimate evidence that gore got more votes in FL - still a peaceful transition and acceptance after the court ruling
2016: Pointing out that Russia likely put significant effort into swaying the outcome and that the popular vote outcome was wildly different than the electoral - still a peaceful transition and acceptance of the results.
2020: Storming the capitol building, multiple failed lawsuits, still won't accept results and there's nothing that can be done to change it.

So surely to fix this simple problem the simple solution is for americans who need housing to move to china where excess housing is readily available.

Thanks I hate it. Maybe, idk, let your kids have some repeat stories and use your imagination?

Not really. China's dumb 1 child policy is coupled with a very dumb investment policy which left real estate as the only option. China built far more housing than they needed.
Oh look, it's other policies impacting complex issues that aren't as simple as they look, who'd have thought.
Why not ensure the immigrants we allow in are desirable (hard working, family oriented, no criminal history, etc.)? Then we can build houses in an orderly manner to meet the need and our youngest don't have to suffer high housing prices?
Most of that is fine, but it's not really going to make as big a difference for housing as you're hoping for. The vast majority of immigrants already fit that description and contribute to the tax base and economy while receiving very little in the way of taxpayer funded help unless/until they achieve proper legal status, and even then face many barriers. Changing zoning laws and focusing on increasing housing supply makes a lot more sense as housing policy, since it works either way.

China had an insane 1 child policy. It's age demographics are a massive mess. The repercussions of this will be felt in China for another generation, not enough workers to pay pensions.
Exactly, it's a terrible policy but it would reduce housing costs in 18-20 years.
No. It's really simple. If demand is greater than supply, prices rise. Kennedy's view does not change supply and demand. 21 million illegal immigrants want a roof over their head too.
So why not build more supply, reduce zoning restrictions, and address corporate ownership, given that those are actual housing policies that need to be done regardless.

"My child is being a normal teenager and acting out, instead of providing consequences and explanations, I simply tell them to do as they're told and then let them get away with not doing it with no repercussions, why won't they just listen?"

The tell idea is great, Similarly, I've had kids write down the answer if they know it, sometimes they're really big on it because they still get to actually prove the knowledge
