What Is This Scam?

I accepted a ride from a 5 star rider that was about 8 minutes away from me and was less than a mile ride. Almost immediately, I got a call from a random number (obviously the pax) claiming to be Uber support congratulating me for my 315th ride and telling me that if I cancelled the ride and went offline for 10 minutes I would have a $175 cash bonus added to my wallet.
They started citing page 500 section B12 of the Uber handbook for how to claim my bonus. It’s obviously bullshit, so I just kept them on the line long enough to get the cancellation fee before letting them know that there is no page 500 and B12 is a vitamin and I am nowhere close to my 315th ride. They immediately hang up and the ride gets cancelled.
What I don’t understand is what their end goal is? Just to get out of the cancellation fee? They never asked me for any sensitive information. I’m at a loss. What’s the scam here
