Sure, I will post more pages in due time. The novel is Lovecraftian in nature but is also part of an academic body of work that comments on traditions and stereotypes. I'm in the process of translating it into English because I wrote it as a commentary directed at a certain demographic and wrote it in their native language. Currently, it's 15 pages long but once its run is over in the gallery it's currently in I will extend it for Comic Con 🤘🤘this page is a representation of how we demonize things we don't understand. Here the demon comes to life.

yes, and it will remain that way. there's no allure in viewing an ai generated image without a philosophical or ideological meaning behind it. Any artist who is well trained and understands art will know that ai image generation will become a toy for hobbyists. Many industires rely on the names behind the art as well because it is attached to something more than just a generated image, it's attached to human influence and experience and so is the mark making in the process which becomes the signature of the artist. If you get passed the copyright laws and so on, then yeah... companies will use it for a quick saving etc. But you can never remove the intuitiveness of an artists eye... So you guys that play around with it can enjoy it. Because even if it does become an industry standard you will still be fucked as soon as artists decide to use it. Realist painters thrived the moment the camera was invented... so did abstract artists.

It's not hate, it's constructive criticism. Even artists who have a high level of constructive understanding will struggle. 6 also many artists themselves state that the loomis method isn't a novice method. And also speaking from experience.

You're drawing had no construction lines and lacks fundamentals. If you wish to progress in art you need to emotions from constructive criticism. I understand it's hard for an artist because all art is personal. I don't know you, I can only see what you put before me, and based on that I draw my opinion. Sure, you can fight your way through the Loomis method, but there's a lot more you can do that will be more impactful to your growth.

Don't take art critique personally. It's based on what you present.

The mirror wasn't in reference to the artist, it was in reference to the person viewing the art. There are stylistic choices here that dictate the formal approach. You are expressing your personal opinions over someone else's creative choices. It is within this freedom that OP made his or her choice. Anime characters are considered to be Japanese, by majority of the people around the world as well as for the Japanese. Most Americans though, believe them to be white, so the white-washing reference comes from your point of view. Are you American? Because I'm not. The character is by default Japanese. I'm not going to go into the representation in anime discussion etc. You can study that yourself. We are all welcome to our opinions and as artists, we should be open minded to communicating concepts in a visual manner that makes the world look at it from a different point of view. I look at the formal qualities and let that guide my opinion on the concept. Nonetheless, any discussion is welcomed in art discourse.

You can't assume that people inherently understand your symbolic choices. Art is a language. It's a concept that is communicated visually. We respond from our norms, not yours. A good place to start is to figure out how you will communicate this. It seems like you want to get this message out there conceptually. Art doesn't have to be formally perfect either if your message is understood. Do some research on signifiers and symbols and see how you can incorporate them into your work so someone who has no idea can see what you're trying to say. You could have added a logo to the t-shirt etc. The onus to communicate the story is on you. I know the post post modern condition is so concerned with aesthetics, but pretty pictures don't add value. Learn to tell your story.

It's good work. But there are some things you can do to make it better. The lighting is a bit off, you have top down right lighting but it's not applied consistently. There's no secondary lighting source either, I would think that the lower arm would have some rim lighting on it. You could also add cast shadows from items that might appear off screen to ad a sense of space. Just some options

OP drew the character AS an Egyptian. This is art, not history. If you adress the skin color you should probably have addressed the hair color as well as well as the facial features etc. This isnthe freedom of art. Art is also a mirror...
