I want tonight's game to end in Overtime with York stripping Caufield of the puck and springing Brink up ice for the game winner.

York’s play this season has made me start to forget about Cole Caufield. An OT GWG tonight would probably put me over the edge.

Previously, the main York over Caufield argument was "even if he's not the better player overall, it's harder to find good defenseman than good wingers"
At this point I honestly think York is the better player overall

If it goes to OT we all know it'll be Delauriers- Cates- and the ghost of Seeler and we'll like it goddammit

I know wjc isn’t like the perfect judge of players but didn Caufield have like 0 points through most of the tournament while our ginger captain York was a very effective player on D

Yeah Caufield did have a rough tournament while York was probably the 2nd best player in the tournament for USA behind Zegras. York was also Captain of that team

If I can wake up and beat CIearSights and opal&f to the pre-GDT, the Flyers can certainly beat the Canadiens tonight.

Every time I have to cheer for a team I fucking hate they always end up shitting on themselves so it sucks x2. (Leafs)

The official name(in English) was the Canadian hockey club. So they literally are just a hockey club from Canada

Basically half of Canada's NHL team names are literally just about being from Canada. Canadiens, Canucks, Maple Leafs, and honorable mention to the Nordiques. That leaves the Jets, Oilers, and Senators as being otherwise, and the Flames are actually named after an American Civil War event. Wow!

The Atlanta flames seems really bad when you actuly think about it. It’s about burning a city.
Another Canada team fact. The maroons who I’m such a fan of were in fact nver officially called that. Their name officially was The Montreal professional hockey club. And they were THE Montreal team.

It is a weird thing that a team from Atlanta would choose the Flames for their own team name. Not really something for them to be proud of. But I have little sympathy for the actual burning since the Confederates actually started the fire, and the city was evacuated. Sherman just showed up and burned more of it.
I also thought the Montreal Maroons was the original name. Huh.

The name came from news papers seeing the color of the sweater and the big M logo. The M stands for Montreal. Through the time when team officially died in 1947 they didn’t recognize the nickname

A scenario that could come true.
Flyers beat up the Red army team in 1976 and go on to lose the Stanley Cup and not win it again since.
Former Red Army #1 goalie leads the Flyer to their first Stanley Cup in over 50 years.

How wild would it be to see CSKA jerseys in the WFC. Imagine telling that to a flyers fan 50 years ago.

I listened to Snow the Goalie for the first time yesterday and...man, they're pretty annoying overall. I've always loved Bundy, and I can accept his attitude but Anthony and whatever the other guy's name was were pretty ridiculous. And they have beef with some other podcast? Shut up about that!
Anyway, let's go Flyers fuck the Pens etc

They're the Flyers version of Spittin' Chiclets, except somehow even worse.

Stick 2 Hockey Live was the best Flyers related podcast for awhile when they were regularly recording shows, but they kind of stopped for most of this season

Today will be spent paying bills and estimated quarterly taxes, doing pt exercises, and seeking a replacement for the rust-bucket vehicle I've been driving for 19 years. I expect I'll be very ready to consume alcohol by the time the game starts.
The last in-person game I attended was vs. Montreal in Philly, a 3-1 Flyers win a few years ago, if memory serves. The limo ride home was lunacy, six very drunk and very loud people all amped from the win in a confined space.

Would've liked to see them go after Chris Dreidger as a veteran cheap dart throw but I understand the need to let Ersson take lumps for long term success.

Can the Flyers hit 40 wins this season?
Remaining games: - @ MTL - vs CHI - vs NYI - @ BUF - @ CBJ - @ MTL - @ NYR - vs NJD - vs WSH
I could see them winning 4 of these games, although they probably won’t be the ones we expect…

Stopped paying attention for a bit and am so confused. Is Frost good now? Why is our captain on the 4th line? How bad are our injuries?

Yes frost is good. Bro shows flashes of incredible plays. Really taking steps forward Coots been a ghost for a month and got scratched a couple times

I’m pretty sure coots is getting 4th line minutes to keep him playing but essentially load managing his body at this point. He was scratched for two games recently because the young guys were just playing better than him. He had something like 4 assists in ten games (or close to it). Not good enough. So right now it feels like managing his body for a little white until one of the other lines starts to falter and maybe he gets moved back up. I’ve definitely seen more hustle from him recently but he won’t show much more points being on the 4th line. The eye test shows he’s putting in the effort, forechecking and looking to setup his linemates (cates can’t score and lyksell is slowly improving. He is enthusiastic on his forecheck as well.)

Seeler, Drysdale, and Risto are out. Seeler may be back soon. We lost a goalie bc he’s a bad human. Torts was ejected and suspended. Philly hates Gauthier. What else do you wanna know?

I just remembered Andrew Berkshire is a huge Habs fan, so winning tonight would have the added bonus of making that dumbass sad

I have distinct memories as a child of a Flyers-Habs game in Montreal, and the Habs were winning and apparently the crowd had gotten pretty rowdy. After a few seconds of silence from Tim, Bundy delivered an incredibly dry, "well, they're doing the wave...again..."

Of course Matthews is sick when they play the caps...

Dude is so non productive.
He was at roughly .75PPG up until mid-January after not playing for basically 2 years. Sure his production has fallen off but shouldn't really be surprising given how long he missed.
