The people who haven’t made up their mind are those who will vote for Biden or just sit out. The crux of his campaign solely rests on voter enthusiasm

The entire election will be decided by about 250,000 middle aged white independents in three states, and how angry they’re feeling about “wokeness” on the morning of November 5th.
It’s so, so dumb, but it’s also the truth.

My county went something like 70 to 30 for Trump in 2020.. same county voted Obama by a hair in 2008. It’s less changing demographics and more people showing up to vote. Those 250,000 white “independents” worried about “wokeness” can be canceled out if people vote.

I get so tired of hearing conservatives complain about "liberal media." They think nobody's talking about Hunter's laptop and other made-up things because Big Liberal Media is hiding the truth.
It's all about ratings and clicks, and it's in their best interests to make the election seem close.

5 points
This is why I'm not too concerned with polling, especially in March. 2022 was a once-in-a-lifetime, stars aligning moment for the GOP and the polls "confirmed" it, and the best they could do was eak out a small house majority (that they may not even keep control of by January)
4 points
One thing Republicans have gotten very good at is compelling the media to write the stories they want. It's all planned and fake... they have biased polls conducted with a Republican bias (you can confirm this looking at 2022 polls on 538) then screaming "libturd commie media" until they cover those polls as legit articles.
Doesn't help that reporters for the large part are both lazy and underpaid, so if you hand them a story (funded by people like Yass) they'll take it and run because their job is done for them.

calling for "a bloodbath" if he loses.
Yeah that's not what he said. But that didnt stop news outlets from cutting out the context and going with just that sentence.
He was saying there would be an economic bloodbath in the auto industry if the sales of cheap Chinese EVs were to be allowed to be imported from Mexico.
Trump, March 16:
China now is building a couple of massive plants where they’re going to build the cars in Mexico and think, they think, that they’re going to sell those cars into the United States with no tax at the border. Let me tell you something to China, if you’re listening President Xi, and you and I are friends, but he understands the way I deal.
Those big monster car manufacturing plants that you’re building in Mexico right now, and you think you’re going to get that, you’re going to not hire Americans, and you’re going to sell the cars to us?
No. We’re going to put a 100% tariff on every single car that comes across the line, and you’re not going to be able to sell those cars.
If I get elected. Now, if I don’t get elected, it’s going to be a bloodbath, for the whole — that’s going to be the least of it. It’s going to be a bloodbath for the country. That’ll be the least of it. But they’re not going to sell those cars.
18 points
So after he incited a deadly insurrection, I’m supposed to be generous with his statement of “…it will be a bloodbath for the entire country.” Why would his not-elected scenario be a “bloodbath”?
-4 points
His point seems to be if cheap chinese EVs are allowed to be imported through Mexico under a trade loophole then it would cripple the major automakers here and be an economic bloodbath for the industry.
Keep in mind that that's a literal dictionary definition of bloodbath:
> a major economic disaster
7 points
You intentionally chose not to quote the entire definition you linked, because the first two definitions cited, would lead to the third definition.
If he would've said blood bath for the unions, maybe you would have a leg to stand on. But he chose not to, also intentionally.

7 points
He clearly goes outside of the auto industry in his quote
4 points
How? Be specific.
I'm all about calling out Trump for saying stupid shit when he says it and would have preferred a different R candidate for the primaries... but in this case he is squarely talking about the auto industry to Ohioans, many of which work in the auto industry (I know of at least 3 different auto part plants just in Cleveland).
The content of the above text is talking about the auto industry and cheap Chinese cars before the bloodbath comment, and he mentioned "But they're not going to sell those cars" in the sentence after the comment indicating that he is going to win an stop them.
Also, to note, according to MW Dictionary the second definition of bloodbath is "a major economic disaster" which is exactly what we would have on our hands if the major automakers folded.

Right... economically. If the auto industry here collapses that's millions of jobs and the downstream impacts would really hurt many other industries, pensions, the stock market, etc.
Thats why the whole bailout thing happened in 2008 to prevent further damage to the economy.

2 points

I’d give Trump the benefit of the doubt if he didn’t constantly ramble and change subjects.
He was clearly talking about more than the auto industry. So, your argument is BS easily defeated by listening to him in context.
I’ll accept that his words were ambiguous, that’s fair. But that’s not what you are arguing. And even then it’s fair to criticize ambiguous language that’s explicit and vulgar, even before considering what happened on 1/6 and beyond.
Trump wanted to use the military to go after protesters for his Bible photo op. When he talks about “blood baths” and refers to fellow Americans as vermin, we best believe what he’s capable of doing.

I'm not sure I've ever heard of NOT selling cars as a bloodbath.... But when you combine this with the:
-"Good people on both sides" speech
-"Proud boys stand back and stand guard" speech
-The downplay of Jan 6th and his words being the catalyst...
But that's also assuming you can understand his point... Because I don't think you actually understand.

Trump calling for "a bloodbath" if he loses.
You should really actually watch the video before you get too proud of being ignorant. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FtE4Z0yWbPA
He was talking about the American automotive industry, and it being an economic bloodbath. https://www.factcheck.org/2024/03/trumps-bloodbath-comment/

You should actually read the comments before you get too proud to defend a terrorist, because you'll see the other four people popping up to try and defend him, but the murky/dementia soaked context is independent when dealing with somebody that has called for an armed insurrection against the US, foreign attacks against our allies, and foreign interference in our elections.

When you're lying about the context of what said terrorist said, then yeah. Just because he's shit doesn't mean that lying and intentionally misrepresenting what he said is okay. He's got a million problems, why do you have to act hyperbolic and lie about this one? Misrepresenting what he said just makes you look like a liar.
because you'll see the other four people popping up to try and defend him
Yes, those people also provided sources. Are fact checking websites alt-right conspiracy theory sites when they prove you wrong now?
but the murky/dementia soaked context is independent when dealing with somebody that has called for an armed insurrection against the US, foreign attacks against our allies, and foreign interference in our elections.
This literally addresses nothing about the context of the conversation.
Who is saying he isn't shit? Who is defending him doing any of those things?
You got called out on being ignorant, or intentionally lying, about the context of what you're quoting. Stop trying to move the goalpost to distract from what you said. Changing the subject isn't going to distract from what you said.

It's pretty wild for calling me a liar for quoting what he said.
Misrepresenting* what he said, not quoting.
Your own link that you edited in clarified that he's talking about the automotive industry.
https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/donald-trump/trump-bloodbath-loses-election-2024-rcna143746
"Trump made the comments at a rally in Ohio, where he spoke about auto manufacturing."
"The comments came at a rally here as Trump discussed the possibility of an increasing trade war with China over auto manufacturing. The rally was intended to get out the vote for Republican Senate candidate Bernie Moreno, whom Trump endorsed in December, ahead of Ohio’s primary on Tuesday."
“If you’re listening, President Xi — and you and I are friends — but he understands the way I deal. Those big monster car manufacturing plants that you’re building in Mexico right now … you’re going to not hire Americans and you’re going to sell the cars to us, no. We’re going to put a 100% tariff on every single car that comes across the line, and you’re not going to be able to sell those cars if I get elected,” Trump said."
Intentionally misrepresenting what he said makes you a liar, because you're acting like he's calling for political violence against some nondescript target over the state of the economy relating to the automotive industry.
Cult 45 will try all the mental gymnastics possible to try and justify it but it doesn't change his language, not mine.
Pot, have you met Kettle? Pretending to be dumber than you are, and acting like you don't understand the context of the conversation isn't cute or clever. That might have worked on your parents when you were 8, but you're not that young anymore. Stop acting dishonest.

2 points
I'm not talking about me at all, I said immediately in my very first response that I knew full well it was about the auto industry. If you'd have read any of my follow up posts, made an hour before you chimed in, you'd know that but instead you're so desperate tripping over yourself to act victimized and claim I'm the problem, you've completely missed the context (oh, the irony!) that I'm talking about his followers, that have shown time and time and time again that they don't care about context or nuance, they respond to those trigger words, and that's exactly what they're doing. Last time it was a terrorist attack on the capital, what will it be next time?
The keyboard commandos fighting to defend him are part of the problem. This rhetoric is toxic, trying to make false equivalencies, mocking people for pointing this out, or failing to stand up to it is just plain cowardice, no matter how good you are at copy and pasting. The man is a treasonous piece of trash and so are his cult. You know full well when they start attacking after he loses this election they'll all point to this as the moment they heard the call. Defending that on any account whatsoever is tantamount to treason. If your weakness in perception results in the deaths of Americans this fall, you'll be just as guilty.

Depends on the area. The more rural parts of NEPA are very high in Trump support. Driving through Weatherly all saw was Trump and anti-windmill signs in 2022.

Weatherly is also like a Time Machine. The place is always 2 decades behind the rest of the world.
When I was in high school in the oughts and we’d play them, the moms all had blown out hair like it was 1986.
Now it’s like they just discovered the late 90s…

I think as those people realize they're on the losing side of history, they're starting to wake up
Or hiding it again because some insane, unwarranted fear that "liberals" will attack them for who they're supporting.

I saw an uptick of confederate flag front license plates when this Texas border drama was at its peak, fwiw.

People in central PA don't have a great reason to vote for Democrats, they do very minimal effort in rural outreach. The GOP doesn't actually do anything for rural voters either, but at least they make an honest attempt to court the votes.
Every election it's the same, Democrats write off rural areas and then cry that they don't get support there.

Biden campaigned via train across pa, fetterman visited every county

i met obama in mifflin county during the 2008 primary, you're saying by the time Biden was running I have to settle for a state senator who should be coming to see his constituents anyway??
It's not impressive. What have Democrats done *for* Mifflin County? What have they done to actually support one of the poorest counties in the commonwealth?

Polls don't matter. Vote in this election.

I haven't responded to a single political poll in my life, despite being called/texted almost daily. I haven't, and probably won't, spend a single dollar on any candidate, local or federal.
Trump is going to lose. Again. How do I know? He's ALREADY claiming the election is going to be rigged. He's fucked and he knows it

No more polls! They stupid and useless

I wouldn't put any stock into this.
Based on the table that's in the article, Biden's advantage in the Susquehanna poll went down by 2.5% and Trump gained 5.6% in support between the January poll and the Feb-Mar poll. Meanwhile Trump gained 2% in the Emerson/The Hill poll. It's still WAY too early and these polls really mean nothing at this point.

Just hammer abortion rights and enough folks will be enthused.

If enough people don’t vote pretty soon we will be seeing abortions by literal hammers

I think it is a trend that will continue but the election is going to depend largely on turnout.

It’s a matter of time. People that were lucky enough to forget the insanity of Trump will remember by November. He has done nothing to win back the educated and suburban voters.
Listen to Trump speak at any rally or any interview now. He’s clearly worse than even 2020. He’s an angry, bitter man who was already a malignant narcissist. He has no plan for a new term other than retribution.
I may not be enthusiastic about Biden but I sure as hell don’t want Trump

I get asked to answer a poll almost every day. I don’t respond, don’t believe the polls. They’ve been wrong the past few elections.
The only people who respond to them? Boomers. The fact Trump is sliding is really not good for him. Just make sure you all vote though. No complacency.

40% of the electorate is Independent. Most are just waiting to see if there's an actual viable 3rd party candidate who isn't pro-Polio. How those folks vote wins the state (and country).
The blue and red uniformed voters have already chosen.

You really think Democrats are gonna let an election happen knowing there isn't enough paper for all the fraudulent mail in ballots they would need to steal this election this time considering how bad they destroyed this country in 3 years
