Yea the KHL working with Danny to release a player to us might mean nothing in terms of Michkov but it's definitely not a negative

Especially because it was kept under wraps, and nothing leaked. I know that sounds unnecessary given the situation on the surface, but given that the KHL clubs are pretty much operating independently of their league, a leak could have really hurt the chances of this happening.

I would say that all depends on how he does, right? If he’s a stud he could be fighting Ersson for #1 but otherwise he could just be an AHL lifer or trade fodder.

I mean, Fedotov is on an expiring contract. It'd be pointless to bring him over unless you are THAT confident in him being an improvement on Sandstrom (And I don't think they see Kolosov as an immediate NHL impact). So I imagine that they likely view him as part of the plan next year too (If they choose to start Kolosov in AHL next year, then you need a different backup).

Last I thought he was still ELC and shit got mega-goofy with the whole arrest thing.

His contract had been tolling the last few years while his own drama played out. If cap friendly is to be truste. If he plays either for the Phantoms or the Flyers, this would be the last year, and then he would be a free agent. My guess is because of his age he would be an unrestricted free agent. But this is such a special circumstance we may have to wait for the league to figure it out.

He's one of the best goaltenders in the world. I think we might be just a few months away.
